Whether you’re an experienced HVAC technician or a journeyman looking to expand your expertise, this position offers a unique opportunity to be part of an industry shift and a pathway for professional development.\nThis role operates on a long-term rotational travel schedule (4 weeks traveling / 1 week off) and is ideal for an experienced HVAC professional who is passionate about their trade, enjoys leading teams, and thrives in high-performance, customer-focused environments.\nAt Carrier, we value our partnerships with our Union workers and are committed to providing payment for all travel time incurred.\nWhat you’ll do\nTravel to different Data Center Sites long-term rotational travel schedule (4weeks traveling / 1week off) \nParticipate in startup and commissioning of new units, applying expertise to support a state-of-the-art facility. \nPerform diagnostic tests, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical malfunctions, and execute regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units. \nReview and interpret regulatory requirements and technical documents, including blueprints and diagrams. \nCultivate strong customer relationships and ensure timely escalation of issues for resolution when necessary. \nPrioritize safety by adhering to licensing requirements, operating equipment safely, recognizing HVAC-related hazards, completing safety training, and implementing effective safety measures. \nRequired Qualifications\nAs a Traveling HVAC Service Technician, you understand the importance of providing expert service and quality. We are looking for an individual who has:\n5+ years practical working experience in the HVAC Industry \n3+ years working on Centrifugal Chillers \nAbility to Push / Pull / Lift 50lbs \nEPA Universal Certification\nMust be able to stand, crawl, sit, squat of extended period of time, climb a ladder, and the ability to work on rooftop \nHigh School Diploma/GED \nPossess and maintain valid and current Driver’s License and be insurable by the company’s insurance carrier \nValued, but not required\nOSHA 30 Certification \nExperience on Carrier, Trane and Daiken Air Cooled and Water-Cooled Centrifugal Chillers \nBasic understanding of building automation controls (BOMAC) \nExperience with data centers \nExperience with Steam Turbines \nExcellent communication skills both written and verbal \nKnowledge of ServiceMax \nStrong working knowledge of: \n19XR, 30CF, and CDU chillers \nAir-side systems (constant volume, VAV) \nWater-side systems (hot water, chilled water, condenser water \nWhat You’ll Gain\nOpportunity for 401k \nPaid travel time after the first hour and on-call schedule for better work-life balance (rotations every 7-8 weeks in most locations) \nCompany provided vehicle with gas cards \nAll necessary tools provided \nKey Safety and PPE Benefits include: \nComprehensive Protection: Steel-toed boots, Carrier-branded uniforms with FR protection, HVAC gloves, hard hats, and face shields \nEnhanced Eye Safety: Standard safety goggles provided, with an option for prescription eyewear if needed \nAdvanced Safety Support: Fall protection provided where required, plus respirators and earplugs as needed \nYou will have autonomy to execute, backed by the camaraderie, continuous support, and resources of a dedicated team within a large, world-renowned company \nBenefits\nBenefits are provided under applicable union agreements and generally include medical insurance, retirement, tuition reimbursement, vacation, holidays, and other time off.
