The Loss Mitigation Underwriter I level is the entry level role in the job family and generally handles the least complex underwriting files while gaining additional knowledge and experience on the more complex files. The target pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00 per hour.\nWhat you’ll do:\nPerform a thorough analysis to ensure the quality of each loan and to determine compliance with Treasury, Company and Investor guidelines.\n\nConduct Verification of Income (VOI).\n\nCalculate customer’s front and back-end debt to income ratio.\n\nVerify occupancy, hardship and income.\n\nApply payment waterfall to determine workout eligibility (repayment plan, forbearance, modification or liquidation options).\n\nIf applicable, identify the type(s) and amounts of liquid assets the borrower holds.\n\nDetermine and communicate needed conditions to properly document the file (reason for default letter, updated pay stubs, bankruptcy papers, etc.).\n\nComplete system tasks as required to maintain compliance with Treasury, Company and Investor guidelines.\n\nDocument final decision and update system of record.\n\nWhat you’ll need:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required.\n\n1 to 2 years of underwriting loss mitigation experience required\n\nOur Company:Carrington Mortgage Services is part of The Carrington Companies, which provide integrated, full-lifecycle mortgage loan servicing assistance to borrowers and investors, delivering exceptional customer care and programs that support borrowers and their homeownership experience.
