This adjunct position will support the Department of Social Work’s implementation of the HRSA Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Program for Children, Adolescents, and Youth (BHWET-CAY) grant. As a former grant student, the employee will assist the grant team in fulfilling key deliverables by contributing to the development of presentations, conference materials, and final reporting products. This position plays an important role in ensuring that student experiences and perspectives are meaningfully integrated into the grant’s dissemination and reporting efforts.

This position is situated under the HRSA BHWET-CAY grant program within the Department of Social Work. It is intended for a former grant student who has since graduated from the program to ensure that the student perspective is meaningfully incorporated into grant deliverables and reporting. This position requires strong communication and collaboration skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and with faculty and staff. This is not considered an essential staff position and is not required to report to work during curtailment.

Duties/Responsibilities

Conference Preparation and Dissemination (40%)

  • Assist with the preparation and submission of conference proposals and abstracts.

  • Support the development of presentation materials, including posters, slide decks, and talking points, to represent the student perspective at professional meetings and conferences.

  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure materials align with grant goals and professional standards.

Scholarly Writing and Publication Support (40%)

  • Contribute to the development of written materials for publication, including a student-authored article and/or interview submission to a clinical practice journal (e.g., OT Practice).

  • Assist with drafting, editing, and formatting content under the guidance of faculty and grant team members.

Grant Reporting and Documentation (10%)

  • As assigned, support the completion of final reporting deliverables required by the HRSA BHWET-CAY grant, including narrative components.

  • May assist with drafting of summary documents or other written products that reflect student contributions and outcomes.

Administrative and Project Support (10%)

  • Provide additional assistance as needed to support grant activities, including conducting literature reviews, researching additional conference and dissemination efforts, and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

  • Must be a current graduate student in Social Work or Occupational Therapy who has participated in the HRSA BHWET-CAY grant program within the Departments of Social Work and Occupational Therapy.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience as a participant in the HRSA BHWET-CAY grant program, working with children, adolescents, and young adults in a behavioral health setting.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • Attention to detail in preparing written materials and presentations.

  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work with faculty, staff, and peers.

  • Familiarity with academic or professional writing, including APA style.

  • Basic proficiency with presentation and document tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Canva).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience presenting at academic or professional conferences.

  • Experience developing posters, slide decks, or other dissemination materials.

  • Familiarity with literature review methods or academic research.

  • Understanding of the HRSA BHWET-CAY program goals and objectives.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
