The University of New Hampshire Psychological and Counseling Services (PACS) invites applications for a mental health clinician position. We are seeking a master level clinician with demonstrated clinical skills who is ready to serve the mental health needs of graduate and undergraduate students. We seek a clinician who has demonstrated competencies in brief treatment modalities, group counseling, and crisis management. Responsibilities include providing individual and group psychotherapy, crisis and case management, campus outreach/consultation, and training of doctoral interns. Previous work in college counseling is preferred. PACS works closely with Health & Wellness and Student Accessibility Services to provide coordinated services for students. Job Description

Duties/Responsibilities

65%

  • Conduct brief and extended intakes and risk assessments, provide individual therapy, group counseling, and urgent care treatment.

  • Use current nationally and internationally recognized diagnostic systems to assign diagnoses, utilizing appropriate empirically validated measures.

  • Develop and implement treatment plans based upon current best practices.

  • Document treatment in a timely and comprehensive manner.

  • Refer off campus for specialized treatment, and/or intensive long-term therapy as appropriate.

  • Provide clinical services consistent with current professional and ethical standards and local, state and federal laws.

  • Maintain awareness of emerging trends in collegiate mental health.

  • Participate in staff meetings, case review, and professional development.

  • Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.

  • Provide training seminars for predoctoral level trainees.

  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, including but not limited to committees both within the counseling center and in the greater university as assigned.

  • Provide outreach programming services for the campus community.

  • Conduct workshops and programs designed to address the needs and/or concerns of students, faculty and staff.

  • Serve as consultant to faculty, staff and students on matters relating to the well-being of students.

Requirements

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

  • Terminal Degree

Required Licenses & Certifications:

  • Licensed clinical social workers and clinical mental health counselors, including a supervised internship and three years of experience in the mental health field.

Other Requirements:

  • The individual must be licensed eligible in NH.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed in the state of NH and preference for three years post licensure experience in the provision of mental health treatment

Compensation Pay Range:

$52,520.00 - $93,640.00
