As a Business Development - Venture Capital Law Firm Manager: \nYou will expand Carta’s distribution and market share by helping us deepen working relationships with key partners-and developing relationships with new ones. You will represent Carta as a valuable contributor to the Venture Capital ecosystem, helping us to drive VC fund penetration. \nCreate champions for Carta’s VC investor products, including fund administration, fund formation, SPV formation, valuations, KYC/AML, to support venture capital funds within the investment management ecosystem by partnering with, developing scalable strategies for, and engaging with law firm fund formation practices\nWork cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Delivery, Product, Engineering, Implementations, and Support to collect feedback from law partners, relay internally, and drive cross-functional conversations and roadmap for a strategy on deepening our mutual client penetration with preferred law firms\nDevelop and execute strategies to convert law firms where Carta does not have deep relationships into preferred partners\nCoordinate and work alongside our Sales team to activate mutual books of business with law firms \nLead discovery on additional paths for Carta to add value to our law firm partners to drive new business to Carta\nDrive non-linear referral motions with law firm partners to reliably drive a 30%+ increase in referrals from law firm partners\nCreate awareness of Carta’s fund and investor tools for venture capital funds \nRepresent Carta in the field, meeting with current and prospective partners and attending industry events on Carta’s behalf (at least 25% travel or more)\nThe Team You’ll Work With\nYou’ll be joining our Business Development team. The Business Development -Venture Capital Law Firms Manager will represent Carta in-market and advance the company’s efforts to grow its network, deepen existing relationships, and develop additional business opportunities with law firm partners for venture capital funds. The Business Development team works cross-functionally to drive ecosystem partnerships to accelerate our growing business. Ideal candidates will be energized by generating new business through our law firm relationships, building and managing impactful external relationships, driving cross-functional collaboration, digging into data, finding scalable and repeatable best practices, constructing strategic communications, helping to change practices, and identifying venture capital managers across a rapidly evolving industry. \nAbout You\nYou enjoy building lasting, productive relationships. You roll up your sleeves to partner with colleagues from across the company to explore what’s possible and drive results. \nQualifications:\nSignificant knowledge of Venture Capital funds and the broader industry\nStrong familiarity with how law firms work with VC funds \nRelevant network of contacts within the community, specifically encompassing law firms \nStrong communication, presentation, and networking skills, with experience leading meetings with key leaders and decision makers \nDeep understanding of SaaS business models\nRelevant Business Development/Partnerships/Sales or other industry experience\nNice-to-Have:\nPrior experience practicing as a fund formation / investment fund attorney, paralegal, or compliance provider\nPrior experience supporting back office functions at a venture capital or private equity fund\nPrior experience managing relationships with high-profile ecosystem partners, specifically law firm partners, but including audit firms, investment funds, consultants, or other technology companies \nUnderstanding of fund formation, regulations that apply to funds, fund administration, audits, or valuation services.\nSalary\nCarta’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans.
