Whether you're turning a wrench, managing operations, or supporting customers, you play a vital role in powering industries that moves the world forward.\nJob Title: Senior Data and Analytics Engineer\nLocation: Richmond, Virginia\nStarting Compensation Range: $120,000 - $145,000 per year\nWhat You Will Do:\nLead business requirements discussions across all business functions; translate immediate business needs into prioritized reporting and analytics solutions with clear acceptance criteria\nDevelop a broad understanding of Carter’s enterprise data model, business processes, and source relationships; connect data across functions to support consistent analysis\nDesign, develop, and optimize Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and DAX measures that support business decisions and consistent KPI definitions\nBuild and maintain reusable SQL datasets, views, and transformations on modern cloud data platforms, including Snowflake and Microsoft Fabric\nOwn solution delivery from requirements and development through testing, business validation, rollout, documentation, and user adoption; measure results against agreed business needs\nPartner with business stakeholders to define KPIs and business rules, resolve conflicting definitions, and teach users how to interpret and apply data\nApply AI data preparation and modeling best practices to produce trusted, well-documented datasets; partner with AI team on data requirements, quality, context, and readiness\nCollaborate with the Data Architect and data development team to align solutions with architecture, security, governance, and development standards and coordinate pipeline dependencies\nSupport migration of Tableau reports to Power BI and modernization of legacy reporting; consolidate redundant reports and promote reusable datasets and semantic models\nValidate data accuracy, reconcile results with source systems, investigate discrepancies, and document business rules, source mappings, and lineage\nOptimize performance, apply version control and release practices, support delivered solutions, and mentor colleagues in data modeling, reporting, and business engagement\nWork in coordination with team to achieve Continuous Improvement goals and objectives\nPerform other related duties as assigned \nWhat We’re Looking For:\nEight or more years of relevant experience in data and analytics, reporting, business intelligence, analytics engineering, or related roles\nHands-on experience with SQL, Power BI, DAX, semantic models, and modern cloud data platforms, including delivery of solutions in partnership with business stakeholders\nExperience with Microsoft Fabric and Snowflake preferred.
