Get a sneak peek into life at ADESA!\nJob Summary\nWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automotive Refinish Technician specializing in buffing, polishing, and paint finishing. The technician will be responsible for restoring and refining vehicle paint surfaces after refinishing, removing imperfections, and producing a smooth, high-quality finish that meets professional standards.\nResponsibilities\nBuff and polish freshly painted automotive surfaces to achieve a smooth, high-gloss finish.\n\nRemove paint imperfections such as orange peel, runs, dust nibs, sanding marks, and minor scratches.\n\nPerform wet sanding and machine polishing as needed.\n\nUse rotary and dual-action polishers safely and effectively.\n\nSelect and properly use compounds, polishes, pads, and finishing products.\n\nInspect completed work for defects, swirl marks, holograms, and other imperfections.\n\nMaintain clean and organized work areas and properly care for tools and equipment.\n\nFollow all shop safety procedures and manufacturer recommendations.\n\nProtect vehicle trim, glass, moldings, and other areas during the refinishing process.\n\nWork efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality and attention to detail.\n\nCommunicate with painters and other technicians to ensure vehicles are completed according to shop standards.\n\nQualifications\nPrevious experience in automotive detailing, paint correction, refinishing, or buffing preferred.\n\nStrong knowledge of automotive paint surfaces and polishing techniques.\n\nExperience using rotary and/or dual-action polishers.\n\nExcellent attention to detail.\n\nAbility to identify paint defects and determine the appropriate correction process.\n\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\n\nValid driver's license preferred.\n\nWillingness to follow safety procedures and maintain a professional work environment.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to stand, bend, kneel, and work around vehicles for extended periods.\n\nAbility to lift and move automotive parts and equipment as required.\n\nAbility to work in a body-shop environment where exposure to dust, chemicals, noise, and automotive products may occur.\n\nPreferred Experience\n1+ year of professional automotive buffing or paint-correction experience.\n\nExperience working in an auto body or collision repair shop.\n\nKnowledge of color sanding and paint finishing.\n\nExperience producing show-quality or dealership-quality finishes.\n\nCompensation\nPay: $21.00/HR Experience Preferred \nSchedule\nFull-time | Schedule 7:00am-3:30pm Subject to change based on business needs \nPhysical Working Conditions:\nThis position is subject to both inside and outside environmental working conditions, including temperature changes, outside weather conditions, slightly elevated ambient noise levels, and minor atmospheric conditions affecting skin or respiratory systems, such as fumes, odors and dusts associated with body shop and paint operations.\nLegal Stuff\nHiring is contingent on passing a complete background check.
