Our global team is diverse, collaborative, and passionate about making scientific insight accessible to drive breakthrough discoveries.\nPosition Summary\nCAS is seeking a Scientific AI Engineer to join our Technology Talent Acceleration Program (TechTAP) beginning in July 2027.\nTechTAP is a premier early-career rotational leadership program designed for ambitious technologists who are passionate about data, analytics, artificial intelligence, and innovation. Participants gain hands-on experience solving meaningful business and scientific challenges while accelerating their technical, leadership, and professional development.\nWorking alongside experienced mentors and leaders, participants will apply data science techniques to uncover insights, evaluate emerging technologies, support product innovation, and develop solutions that create value for CAS customers and stakeholders. Participants will contribute to high-impact projects, collaborate across disciplines, and build the skills needed to become future leaders in analytics, AI, and technology.\nQualifications\nRequired\nBachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Materials Science or related scientific or quantitative fields.\n24 months or fewer of professional experience in data science, analytics, software engineering, artificial intelligence, or a related field.\nMinimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).\nStrong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.\nExperience using Python, R, SQL, or similar tools for data analysis.\nExperience using and/or designing agentic workflows and tools.\nAbility to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.\nAbility to work effectively in collaborative team environments and independently when needed.\nDemonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to learn new technologies.\nDemonstrated leadership experience through academic, professional, volunteer, or extracurricular activities.\nPreferred\nExposure to or experience with one or more of the following:\nMachine Learning and Artificial Intelligence\nGenerative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs)\nStatistical analysis and predictive modeling\nData visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau\nData engineering concepts and data pipelines\nCloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform\nApache Spark, Databricks, or large-scale data processing technologies\nExperimental design and model evaluation techniques\nProduct analytics, customer research, or innovation-focused projects\nScientific, chemical, biological, or materials science datasets\nPrevious technical internship, co-op, research, or project experience\nKey Responsibilities\nCollaborate with business, product, and technology teams to understand challenges and identify opportunities to leverage data and AI.\nCollect, prepare, analyze, and interpret structured and unstructured data from a variety of sources.\nApply statistical, analytical, and machine learning techniques to generate insights and support decision-making.\nDesign and evaluate experiments, prototypes, models, dashboards, and analytical solutions.\nCommunicate findings, recommendations, and project outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nContribute to innovation efforts by exploring emerging technologies, industry trends, and AI applications.\nSupport the development of data products, analytical capabilities, and business intelligence solutions.\nPartner with stakeholders to understand customer needs and help translate insights into impactful products and services.\nPresent project updates, findings, and
