This position is responsible for collaborating with kitchen and nursing staff to assist with providing meals and snacks for resident.\nThis is a Part-Time (0.6 FTE) role working at Our House of Portland located in SE Portland. The schedule for this role is Friday - Monday 10:30am - 7pm\nStarting pay is $23.17 an hour which is equivalent to just over $28,916 a year with a $1.00 differential for weekends. The Kitchen Assistant’s Pay increases with tenure and the top of the pay scale is $27.16. This is a union represented position, so the compensation, benefits and conditions of work are collectively bargained.\nWho You Are\nAbility to pass DHS background check to work in a Residential Care Facility (Potential Disqualifying Conviction List) \nHigh School Diploma or GED\nFood handler’s card or ability to obtain one in the first 3 months of hire. \nFirst aid certification or ability to become certified in the first 3 months of hire \nMotivation to work with people living with HIV/AIDS who require all levels of care. \nWillingness to work with people with physical and emotional health and/or substance use disorder. \nAbility to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and adhere to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy requirements. \nWhat You’ll Do\nCooks and trains in short order and meal service cooking for 20 meals per service \nCommunicate with staff and residents about daily meals. \nFollows all dietary instructions for residents, including \nOrients self with updates since last shift \nFollows all portion size guidelines. \nFollows all food safety guidelines and maintains kitchen cleanliness \nCooks food that is nutritious and follows all dietary instructions for residents \nAt CAP Northwest, we believe in unlocking potential.
