Duties must be performed in ways that maximize production efficiency.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:\nResponsible for general repair, maintenance and cleaning of machinery as needed.\nInputs package quality testing results into Quality Windows program.\nOversees finished packaged items from machine and separates rejected items.\nManages machine components and settings according to product size.\nPerforms periodic inspection on machinery and mechanical equipment for accuracy of UPC code printing and label registration.\nOptimizes run-time during periods of shift rotation.\nClears jams and reports malfunctions for maintenance.\nResponsible for product size change over and tracking product flow.\nAdjusts machine controls for proper fill during production runs.\nActively communicates with maintenance all machine problems that exceed an operator’s ability to fix.\nCooperates with maintenance in all mechanical changes, PLC updates, and equipment installation. \nIncorporates rework into the finished product at established quality specifications as required.\nFulfills quality functions and conforms to all quality control regulations and procedures.\nCompletes record keeping and other paperwork as required.\nResponsible for general housekeeping around the production area.\nUpholds and provides safe, high-quality, consistent products, and superior services that anticipate, meet or exceed the requirements of our customers.\nComplies with General Safety Communication Program.\nPerforms other duties/tasks as assigned on an as needed basis.\nSKILL SET/ EXPERIENCE:\nMaintains a high-quality product.\nUnderstands how to read package quality specifications (die-lines, temperatures, measurements, bag height etc.)\nBasic experience with hand tools.\nWorking knowledge of computer basics and experience with data entry.\nManufacturing experienced desired. \nObserves physical changeover of product on the machine.\nHas ability to trouble shoot minor problems on packaging machines. \nHas a novice understanding of centerline machine settings adjustments (time, pressure, temperature).\nPHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:\nBasic ability to read, write, calculate simple math, and withstand moderate amounts of stress.\nHigh degree of organizational skills required to maintain uninterrupted machine operation.\nGood analytical skills needed to plan and implement various machine operation functions. \nAbility to address complex problems and propose viable solutions.\nTo direct and train the case packer and end-line to perform essential job functions, at the behest of the supervisor or lead.\nExcellent oral and written communications skills required.\nWORK ENVIROMENT AND EQUIPMENT:\nPersonal protection equipment and other Good Manufacturing Practices are mandatory.\nOperational knowledge of various coffee packing machines, printers, and metric tooling.\nThis position is inside a warehouse roasting facility that requires constant standing on concrete floors, exposed to loud equipment noise and subject to coffee dust and flavoring smells.\nEDUCATION:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nWORK HABITS:\nRegular attendance and promptness are a must for this job.\nThis job requires a high degree of teamwork.\nAssists new training of employees as directed.\nCascade coffee is committed to creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity.
