Our talented staff of environmental professionals performs projects nationwide and internationally.\nKey Responsibilities\nAI & Application Development\nDesign, develop, and deploy AI-powered applications, assistants, and workflows that solve real business and environmental problems.\nDevelop custom internal software, portals, and applications that improve operational efficiency.\nEvaluate new AI platforms, large language models (LLMs), and automation technologies, and rapidly prototype high-value use cases.\nData, Analytics & Integration\nBuild dashboards and business intelligence tools that deliver actionable insight to leadership and project teams.\nIntegrate business and technical systems through APIs, databases, and cloud services.\nSupport data management, reporting, and analytics initiatives-including work with scientific, financial, and regulatory data.\nAutomation & Enablement\nCreate automated workflows that reduce manual effort and streamline business processes.\nTrain and support employees in adopting new AI tools, and champion a culture of practical, responsible AI use.\nGovernance & Strategy\nDevelop AI governance standards and best practices that ensure secure, ethical, and responsible use of emerging technologies-particularly important given GSI's confidential client, litigation, and government project data.\nPartner with IT and leadership to establish a long-term technology and innovation roadmap.\nLocation\nThis position is preferably based at or near one of GSI's offices, with our Houston headquarters as the ideal location. Hybrid or remote arrangements will be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.\nQualifications\nQualifications/Experience\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.\nAbility to develop software applications, automation tools, business intelligence solutions, or AI-enabled technologies.\nHands-on experience with Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, or machine learning technologies.\nStrong programming skills in Python, SQL, JavaScript, C#, or similar languages.\nExperience building dashboards and analytics with Power BI, Tableau, or comparable platforms.\nExperience integrating systems via APIs, databases, and cloud technologies.\nStrong grasp of data architecture, security, governance, and software development best practices.\nProven ability to translate complex business problems into practical technology solutions.\nExcellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.\nExperience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) or similar low-code tools-GSI is a Microsoft 365 environment.\nExperience building LLM/RAG applications, document automation, or AI assistants for knowledge work.\nA passion for continuous learning and staying current with rapidly evolving AI technologies.\nA passion for the environment is a strong
