This role is critical to enabling safe, reliable, and scalable operations across engineering, manufacturing, and office environments. You will serve as the primary owner of the facility, balancing immediate operational needs with long-term site development as the company rapidly grows.\nThis is a ground-up opportunity: the site is in early stages, and success will require building structure from ambiguity. You will establish and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), develop maintenance and facilities systems, and drive prioritization across competing demands. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, brings strong operational discipline, and is comfortable making decisions with incomplete information while maintaining a high bar for safety and execution.\nResponsibilities\nOwn all facilities operations across a 1,000-acre New Mexico site, serving as the primary point of contact for facilities-related strategy, execution, and performance\nStand up and implement SOPs across facilities, maintenance, safety coordination, and vendor management\nEstablish prioritization frameworks to balance urgent operational needs, site development, and long-term infrastructure planning\nBuild and scale preventative maintenance programs for both facility systems and manufacturing/shop equipment\nOversee building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, security, fire protection, and industrial infrastructure\nSupport installation, commissioning, and ramp of manufacturing equipment and production spaces\nManage and prioritize work orders, ensuring timely resolution of maintenance, repair, and operational issues\nSource, manage, and hold accountable external vendors and contractors for quality, cost, and schedule across a large and evolving site\nPartner closely with EHS, security, engineering, and operations to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements\nPartner closely with our design engineer to manage site planning efforts including space allocation, infrastructure layout, expansions, and future buildouts\nDevelop systems for tracking maintenance, downtime, asset management, and inventory of critical spares\nSupport emergency preparedness and incident response across a large-scale site (power loss, system failures, environmental factors)\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives to increase uptime, reliability, and operational efficiency as the site scales\nBasic Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred\n7+ years of experience in facilities, site operations, or industrial/manufacturing environments, with increasing responsibility\nExperience supporting large, complex, or multi-building sites (campus-style or industrial environments preferred)\nDemonstrated ability to build and implement SOPs, maintenance programs, and operational processes from the ground up\nStrong working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety) and maintenance best practices\nDemonstrated operational discipline in high-reliability environments with a focus on uptime and safety\nStrong understanding of workplace hazards and safety practices\nProven ability to prioritize effectively across competing demands in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment\nExperience managing vendors, contractors, and cross-functional stakeholders\nStrong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills\nAbility to operate independently with high ownership and accountability\nAbility to support off-hours or emergency response as needed\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nExperience standing up new facilities, greenfield sites, or major expansions\nBackground supporting manufacturing, CNC machining, or high-mix, low-volume production environments\nFamiliarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS), asset tracking, and reliability programs\nExperience with infrastructure or capital projects (site development, utilities, equipment installs)\nStrong competency in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies\nExperience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated industrial environments\nBudget ownership and cost control experience\nCastelion offers a generous benefits package.
