You will coordinate the movement, control, and availability of materials while ensuring accurate inventory transactions, proper material traceability, and timely support for Production. The Inventory Lead is a working lead who provides day-to-day direction to Inventory Specialists and material-handling personnel. This role is responsible for prioritizing shift activities, assigning work, resolving material issues, maintaining inventory accuracy, and communicating status and risks to cross-functional partners and leadership. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, hands-on, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You should be able to lead through changing priorities while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, inventory accuracy, and material traceability.\nResponsibilities\nLead and coordinate daily inventory and material-handling activities for the weekend shift.\nAssign work, establish priorities, and adjust staffing and activities based on Production requirements.\nServe as the primary weekend-shift point of contact for Inventory and Materials-related issues.\nPick, organize, stage, and move raw materials, hardware, purchased components, machined parts, assemblies, and other production material.\nPick and prepare kits in support of manufacturing work orders, ensuring required materials and quantities are accurately accounted for.\nReceive, put away, transfer, issue, and consume inventory while ensuring physical movements are accurately reflected in the ERP/MES system.\nMaintain accurate inventory locations and ensure material is stored in designated, properly labeled, and audit-ready areas.\nPerform and coordinate daily cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and support inventory reconciliation activities.\nMaintain proper material identification, lot and serial traceability, and shelf-life controls as applicable.\nMonitor shelf-life-controlled inventory and maintain proper stock rotation, including FIFO requirements.\nEnsure strict material-handling practices are followed to prevent damage, contamination, loss, or loss of traceability.\nCoordinate material staging and replenishment to production areas based on manufacturing priorities.\nLocate and resolve missing, damaged, or incorrectly stored material and escalate unresolved discrepancies appropriately.\nReview inventory transactions and shift activity for accuracy and completeness.\nSupport shift-start planning, end-of-shift handoffs, and communication of open issues, material shortages, and production risks.\nTrain, coach, and support Inventory Specialists and other material-handling personnel on procedures, systems, safety, and best practices.\nHelp identify process improvements that increase inventory accuracy, material availability, productivity, and responsiveness.\nAssemble and maintain racks, shelving, bins, labels, and other inventory storage systems.\nOperate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other material-handling equipment as required.\nMaintain clean, organized, and audit-ready inventory areas using established 5S practices.\nCoordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Shipping & Receiving, and Supply Chain to resolve material issues and support production schedules.\nSupport Shipping & Receiving and other Materials functions as operational priorities require.\nPromote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational discipline.\nFollow all applicable safety, quality, export-control, and company procedures.\nPerform other Materials and Inventory tasks as assigned to support changing production requirements.\nBasic Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate.\n3+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, materials management, or a related manufacturing environment.\nPrior experience providing day-to-day direction, training, or coordination of warehouse or inventory personnel.\nExperience using an ERP, MES, warehouse-management, or inventory-control system.\nForklift certification or the ability to obtain forklift certification.\nDemonstrated experience with inventory transactions, cycle counting, material staging, and inventory reconciliation.\nAbility to lift 25 lbs. unassisted.\nStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work independently, make sound decisions, and appropriately escalate issues.\nAbility to work the following shift and overtime as needed to reach critical mission milestones: \nWeekend Day Shift: 6:00AM- 6:00PM, Thursday- Sunday\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nExperience in aerospace, defense, automotive, semiconductor, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.\nExperience with serialized, lot-controlled, shelf-life-controlled, or export-controlled material.\nExperience leading cycle counts, inventory audits, 5S activities, or continuous-improvement initiatives.\nExperience interpreting work orders, bills of material, pick lists, and manufacturing priorities.\nFamiliarity with lean manufacturing or material-flow principles.\nPrevious experience as an Inventory Lead, Warehouse Lead, Materials Lead, or equivalent.\nCastelion offers a generous benefits package.
