This position ensures compliance with DoD, federal, and site-specific armed security regulations; supervises armed security personnel (proprietary and/or contracted); maintains weapons accountability; and leads incident response to protect personnel, information, and critical assets.\nThe ideal candidate has a background in physical security or law enforcement with deep expertise in providing asset, facility, and personnel protection at aerospace, defense, or government facilities. The Supervisor enforces security policies, conducts risk assessments, executes the organizations incident response plans, coordinates with local law enforcement, monitors and manages local CCTV and access control systems, and develops site security awareness training. This role is critical in safeguarding the company's people and technology. They will also monitor internal controls, track remediation efforts, and help align teams with regulatory and contractual requirements. Ideal candidates have a strong understanding of sensitive technology (ITAR/CUI), excellent communication skills, and experience managing security programs in fast-paced environments.\nKey Duties & Responsibilities \nArmed Security Operations:\nSupervise armed guard force on duty during shift and ensure all personnel adhere to Use of Force (UoF) policy, weapons safety rules, and DoD requirements.\nCarry a loaded duty weapon while performing security duties; remain weapons-qualified at all times.\nOversee access control, armed patrols, vehicle inspections, secure area checks, and Quick Reaction Force (QRF) activation when required.\nEnsure proper issuance, tracking, clearing, and turn-in of firearms, ammunition, and protective equipment.\nRespond to alarms, threats, and security breaches as an armed responder; lead initial incident command until relieved by higher authority.\nConduct weapons safety briefings, UoF reinforcement training, and immediate corrective actions for weapons-handling violations.\nSupervision & Leadership:\nDirect and evaluate the performance of armed security officers on shift.\nVerify compliance with post orders, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and DoD directives.\nManage coordination with contracted guard company for scheduling, assignments, and readiness of armed personnel.\nTrain team members on emergency procedures, escalation protocols, and DoD security compliance.\nReporting & Documentation: \nPrepare incident reports, UoF statements, weapons clearing logs, and daily activity logs.\nDocument all weapons and ammunition issuance and reconcile shift-level armory records.\nSubmit after-action reports for incidents involving weapons presentation or UoF.\nCoordination & Compliance: \nCoordinate with Director of Security, fire/rescue, and state and local law enforcement.\nMaintain compliance with:\nDoD 5210.56 (Arming & Use of Force)\nInstallation security directives\nContractor requirements (e.g., DoD contract security standards)\nMinimum Qualifications\nClearance:\nActive DoD Secret (or higher) clearance\nMust maintain eligibility for continued access to restricted areas\nWeapons Qualifications:\nMeet DoD arming requirements, including:\nFirearms qualification on assigned weapon system (e.g., 9mm pistol, .40, or 5.56 rifle depending on contract)\nCompletion of weapons safety training, use-of-force training, and judgmental shooting\nAbility to qualify at least semi-annually (or per contract)\nExperience:\n7+ years of armed security, military, or law enforcement experience.\n3+ years of supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.\nExperience working on federal or DoD installations strongly preferred.\nEducation:\nHigh school diploma or GED required.\nPreferred: Associate or bachelors degree in criminal justice, Security Management, or related field.\nCertifications:\nActive state armed guard license (where applicable)\nCPR/First Aid/AED certification\nFEMA ICS-100, 200, 700 (if needed)\nOC spray/baton/Taser certifications\nSkills & Competencies:\nStrong weapons handling and safety discipline.\nAbility to lead under stress and direct armed response teams.\nClear written communication for incident reporting.\nProficiency with radios, CCTV, access control systems.\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to stand armed post for long periods, conduct foot/vehicle patrols, and lift/move moderate weight.\nMeet fitness standards for weapons handling and emergency response.\nMust be able to wear body armor and carry weapon systems daily.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrior military, infantry, security forces, or civilian law enforcement.\nInstructor certifications (firearms, UoF, defensive tactics) a plus.\nExperience with DoD contract security operations (e.g., Army, Navy, Air Force, DARPA, DLA, MDA).\nCastelion offers a generous benefits package.
