Our Wayne, New Jersey laboratory conducts research, product development, deployment, and technical service activities using a range of advanced laboratory and research equipment.\nAs an Associate Technician, Product Development, you will support the Driveline and Thermal Management Fluid teams through hands-on laboratory activities. Working under the guidance of the Team Leader and alongside Product Development Technologists, you will help ensure laboratory blending, sample preparation, testing, and related activities are completed safely, accurately, and on time.\nKey tasks\nManage and prioritize laboratory blending activities and performance testing requests in support of Product Development Technologists and the Team Leader.\n\nConduct laboratory blending and support product development studies.\n\nPrepare, handle, and submit samples for internal and external testing.\n\nSupport testing and evaluation of new raw materials.\n\nManage incoming raw materials, including appropriate storage, stock control, quality checks, and safety documentation.\n\nSupport laboratory operating procedures, including equipment calibration, raw material storage, and equipment maintenance.\n\nHelp maintain high standards for sample handling, laboratory organization, safety, and overall laboratory practices.\n\nCoordinate training for new starters and visitors on laboratory equipment, blending activities, and raw material handling.\n\nSupport the purchase of laboratory consumables and equipment.\n\nWork closely with the Team Leader and Product Development Technologists to ensure laboratory activities are performed in accordance with applicable HSE requirements and laboratory standards.\n\nOrganize and prioritize multiple blending and laboratory requests to ensure high-quality work is delivered within required timelines.\n\nExperience required\nAssociate degree in chemistry, engineering, science, or a related discipline required; bachelor’s degree preferred.\n\nHands-on laboratory exposure through academic coursework, an internship, co-op, or professional experience.\n\nStrong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and laboratory activities.\n\nBasic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.\n\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to performing laboratory work accurately and safely.\n\nCollaborative approach to working with colleagues and internal customers.\n\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills.\n\nExperience with laboratory blending, sample preparation, raw material handling, inventory, quality control, or laboratory equipment is desirable but not required.\n\nPrevious exposure to lubricants, automotive fluids, formulation, or product development is desirable but not required.\n\nThe anticipated salary range for this position is shown below with additional market competitive benefits.
