Reporting to the Director of Data & Analytics, this role serves as the primary authority for data governance, data stewardship, metadata management, data quality, and regulatory compliance related to HIPAA, PII, and PHI. This role works closely with the Senior Data Architect, Senior Data Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, Business Intelligence Analysts, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure data assets are secure, compliant, trustworthy, well-documented, and appropriately governed for operational reporting, analytics, and AI/ML initiatives.Enterprise Data Governance Leadership\nEstablish, lead, and continuously mature Catalight’s enterprise data governance program, policies, standards, and operating model\nDefine governance frameworks for data quality, metadata management, lineage, stewardship, access management, retention, and lifecycle management\nDevelop governance roadmaps and maturity strategies aligned with Catalight’s analytics, AI/ML, and data democratization objectives\nEstablish governance councils, stewardship programs, and cross-functional governance processes across business and technical teams\nDefine and maintain enterprise standards for governed data usage across analytics and AI/ML workloads\nHIPAA, PII PHI Compliance\nServe as the primary subject matter expert for HIPAA, PHI, PII, and healthcare data governance requirements within the Data & Analytics organization\nDefine and enforce data classification, handling, retention, masking, and access control standards for sensitive healthcare data\nPartner with Security, Compliance, Legal, and Technology teams to ensure data governance practices align with regulatory and organizational requirements\nSupport audit readiness, compliance reporting, risk assessments, and remediation efforts related to healthcare and regulated data\nEstablish governance controls to ensure appropriate segregation and protection of sensitive and non-sensitive analytical environments\nSnowflake Governance & Data Platform Stewardship\nLead governance strategy and standards for Catalight’s Snowflake data platform\nDefine and maintain governance standards for Snowflake object naming, role-based access controls (RBAC), data sharing, metadata management, and data lifecycle processes\nPartner with the Senior Data Architect and Senior Data Engineer to ensure governance controls are operationalized within Snowflake pipelines, data models, and access patterns\nSupport implementation and governance of medallion architecture, semantic layers, curated data products, and governed self-service analytics capabilities\nMonitor and improve data quality, consistency, lineage, and usability across enterprise Snowflake environments\nMetadata, Lineage & Data Stewardship\nEstablish and maintain enterprise metadata standards, business glossaries, data dictionaries, and lineage documentation\nDefine stewardship responsibilities and partner with business stakeholders to improve data ownership and accountability\nEnable governed self-service analytics and data discovery through standardized metadata and cataloging practices\nDrive enterprise adoption of data stewardship and governance best practices across technical and non-technical teams\nAI/ML Governance & Emerging Technology Enablement\nMetadata, Lineage & Data Stewardship\nEstablish and maintain enterprise metadata standards, business glossaries, data dictionaries, and lineage documentation\nDefine stewardship responsibilities and partner with business stakeholders to improve data ownership and accountability\nEnable governed self-service analytics and data discovery through standardized metadata and cataloging practices\nDrive enterprise adoption of data stewardship and governance best practices across technical and non-technical teams\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner with the Senior Data Architect to align governance policies with enterprise data architecture standards\nCollaborate with the Senior Data Engineer to operationalize governance controls, monitoring, and quality validation within data pipelines\nWork closely with BI Analysts and business stakeholders to improve trust, usability, and consistency of enterprise reporting assets\nCommunicate governance standards, risks, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences\nContribute to enterprise analytics strategy, roadmap planning, and organizational data maturity initiatives\nProgram Management & Continuous Improvement\nDefine governance KPIs, maturity metrics, and adoption measurements\nLead governance-related training, documentation, and organizational change management initiatives\nEstablish repeatable governance workflows and operational processes that scale with organizational growth\nContinuously evaluate and improve governance practices, tooling, and operational effectiveness\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field preferred;
