Our new office includes an innovative vibe, stand-up desks for all staff, foosball games, an active workplace enrichment committee, fitness challenges, an office dog, lounge areas, and more!\nThe opportunity\nThis role supports the conversion of legacy real and personal property assessment and tax data into modern CAMA platforms, working alongside experienced engineers. This is a training-focused role for someone starting a career in data, GIS or public-sector technology.\nThis is an onsite position working out of our Edmonton office Monday through Friday.\nWhat you Will Do\nHelp map legacy CAMA and tax data to the target system, gathering answers from SMEs and client staff\nWrite and maintain SQL queries and scripts, under guidance, to convert parcel, valuation, ownership, sales, exemptions, building and personal property data\nApply documented business rules and IAAO-aligned logic\nRun conversion passes (baseline, mid-project, final) and reconcile results with source data, such as record counts, buildings and valuation by class code\nIdentify, document and help resolve data quality issues; add lessons learned to the QA checklist\nPrepare data for UAT, support go-live, and keep mapping and conversion documentation current\nHandle sensitive taxpayer information according to security protocols\nRequirements\nWhat you Will Need to Succeed\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, GIS, or a related field\n0-1 years of experience with data, ETL or database work\nWorking knowledge of SQL and relational databases\nStrong attention to detail\nClear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders\nWillingness to learn\nMust be available for critical project phases such as conversion runs, UAT and go-lives\nPreferred (not required):\nExposure to property assessment or public-sector data, CAMA platforms, IAAO standards or GIS\nExperience with FME, SSIS, Talend, Python or Jira\nCatalis is committed to building and promoting a diverse workforce and celebrates the unique qualities that individuals of various backgrounds and experiences offer.
