You will be responsible for owning standard accounting close processes, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and building relationships with key corporate partners. It is an ideal role for a collaborative professional looking to combine financial discipline with cross-functional business partnering in a corporate environment.\nResponsibilities\nOperational Accounting Close:\nOwn day-to-day accounting processes, including month-end/fiscal close, preparing journal entries, and completing balance sheet reconciliations.\nMaintain and own key financial and accounting controls to ensure full compliance with internal corporate policies.\n\nDiscrepancy Analysis & Issue Resolution:\nAnalyze complex financial discrepancies, conduct thorough root-cause analysis to resolve them, and escalate critical accounting issues to management as needed.\n\nProcess Optimization & Projects:\nLead specific accounting projects and initiatives, recommending and implementing actionable strategies to reduce business costs and streamline workflows.\n\nPartner with IT regarding system changes to ensure seamless accounting policy compliance.\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration:\nBuild and maintain collaborative relationships with key corporate partners across the company, including Finance, Tax, Audit, Financial Planning, Merchandise Planning & Allocation, and Supply Chain.\n\nWork cross-functionally with various departments and multiple levels of management, providing clear accounting guidance and support.\n\nReporting, Metrics & Forecasting:\nCompile, structure, and analyze financial data to support forecasting models.\n\nDevelop and enhance operational performance metrics and reporting templates to assist leadership decision-making.\n\nTeam Development:\nProvide support and guidance within the department, assisting in the onboarding and training of new associates on core accounting tools and processes.\n\nQualifications\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a closely related field is required.\n\nExperience:\n1-3 years of professional accounting, corporate finance, or related operational experience is preferred.\n\nAccounting Knowledge:\nSolid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and basic accounting procedures.\n\nTechnical Skills:\nIntermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, data formatting).\n\nCore Competencies:\nStrong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication.\n\nSuperb interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with cross-functional teams and various levels of management.\n\nMindset:\nHighly detailed, organized, and proactive; eager to learn, adapt to changing priorities, and build a career with Catalyst Brands.\n\nWhat You Get If eligible, we offer a competitive benefits package including medical/dental/vision, term life insurance, paid vacation/holidays*, and 401(k) with Company match.
