This role will focus on building and managing scalable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure across a growing and evolving ecosystem of data and analytics technologies.\nWhile current platforms include MicroStrategy, Snowflake, AWS, Airflow, and Tableau, this role requires a proactive, adaptable engineer who can continuously learn, evaluate, and integrate new tools as business needs evolve. You will work at the intersection of platform engineering and data operations, enabling seamless deployment, monitoring, and governance of data and analytics solutions. This role combines hands-on platform engineering expertise with platform ownership and cross-functional collaboration, partnering with data engineering, analytics, and business teams to deliver resilient and efficient systems.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure and platform services across AWS, Datameer, Tableau, MicroStrategy, Snowflake, Airflow etc. \nBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data and analytics applications, ensuring reliable and automated deployments. \nManage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. \nEnsure platform reliability through monitoring, alerting, logging, and incident response practices. \nOptimize performance, scalability, and cost across cloud environments and analytics platforms. \nImplement security best practices, including identity management, data protection, and compliance controls. \nCollaborate with data engineering, analytics and cross-functional teams to enable efficient data workflows and platform usage. \nAutomate operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention. \nSupport environment provisioning, configuration management, and release management processes. \nContinuously evaluate, adopt, and integrate new platforms and tools as the data ecosystem evolves. \nLead platform standardization while remaining adaptable to emerging technologies and changing business needs. \nDrive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to modernize or replace existing tooling. \nContribute to platform governance, including access controls, auditability, and operational standards. Provide technical leadership, set platform standards, and mentor engineers contributing to the analytics platform. \nParticipate in on-call rotations and lead incident response for platform-related outages. \nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field with 5+ years of platform or platform engineering experience.\n\nStrong experience with Snowflake, MicroStrategy and Tableau platform administrative management & support.\n\nStrong experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, and VPC.\n\nHands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar.\n\nExperience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).\n\nExperience managing and supporting analytics platforms such as Airflow, Datameer and Tableau.\n\nExperience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.\n\nExperience with scripting languages such as PySpark, Python, Bash, or similar.\n\nFamiliarity with monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).\n\nUnderstanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture principles.\n\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\n\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.\n\nDemonstrated ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies in a changing environment\n\nExperience working in evolving platform ecosystems where tools and priorities shift over time\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with data platform ecosystems and integration with data warehouses like Snowflake or Redshift.\n\nExperience evaluating and introducing new tools or platforms into production environments\n\nFamiliarity with data pipeline orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow.\n\nExperience implementing Platform practices for BI and analytics tools, especially MicroStrategy and Tableau.\n\nKnowledge of Datameer platform administration, optimization, and troubleshooting.\n\nExperience with secrets management tools (AWS Secrets Manager, HashiCorp Vault).\n\nExperience implementing security and compliance frameworks in cloud environments.\n\nFamiliarity with cost optimization strategies for cloud infrastructure.\n\nExperience working in retail, e-commerce, or consumer-facing environments.\n\nExposure to AI/ML platform deployment and MLOps practices.\n\nWhat you Get:\nEnjoy a rewarding career at Catalyst, where we offer a competitive benefits package, a vibrant work environment, and the opportunity to make a difference with America's most iconic retail brands.\nGenerous benefits: Medical/dental/vision insurance starting on day one, term life insurance, paid vacation/holidays, 401(k) Savings Plan with company match, and an associate discount on merchandise across all Catalyst Brands.\nOpportunities for growth and development: We are committed to helping our employees grow their careers and develop their skills.
