The operation continues to expand underground, with several mining areas successfully transitioning from development into production.\nCatalyst is committed to building a sustainable, long-life gold business, underpinned by disciplined technical planning, operational excellence and continuous improvement.\nListed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX: CYL), Catalyst Metals is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from people who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.\nAbout the Role\nReporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Shutdown Planner is responsible for developing and coordinating shutdown plans for the processing plant and associated infrastructure.\nWorking closely with Operations, Maintenance, Supply Chain and contractors, you will establish clear work scopes, develop detailed schedules and ensure labour, materials, equipment and services are ready ahead of each shutdown. Your focus will be on delivering safe, well-prepared shutdowns that minimise plant downtime, control costs and improve asset reliability.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and maintain shutdown scopes, work packs and schedules, ensuring work is clearly defined, prioritised and achievable within shutdown timeframes.\nCoordinate labour, contractors, equipment, materials and specialist services to support successful shutdown execution.\nLiaise with Operations, Maintenance and Supply Chain to manage plant access, isolations, material readiness and return-to-service requirements.\nReview maintenance backlogs, inspection findings and statutory requirements to identify and prioritise shutdown work.\nSupport shutdown budgeting, cost control and scope management while communicating risks, milestones and progress to stakeholders.\nMonitor shutdown performance and coordinate post-shutdown reviews, ensuring work completion, close-out activities and continuous improvement initiatives are captured.\nRequirements\nTo be successful in this role, you will possess:\nExperience planning and coordinating shutdowns within mining, mineral processing or heavy industry.\nStrong knowledge of fixed plant maintenance and shutdown planning principles.\nProven ability to develop work scopes, resource estimates and detailed shutdown schedules.\nExperience using Pronto or a similar CMMS, along with Microsoft Project or Primavera.\nStrong communication, contractor management and stakeholder engagement skills.\nExcellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.\nA trade or engineering qualification will be highly regarded.\nBenefits\nWhy Catalyst?\n8:6 FIFO roster from Perth promoting genuine work-life balance.\nHealth insurance eligibility.\nSalary sacrifice options, including novated leasing, airport car parking and more.\nExposure to a growing and expanding gold operation.\nOpportunity to shape shutdown planning practices and improve plant performance.\nSupportive and collaborative site leadership team.\nOngoing development and internal progression opportunities.\nIf you take pride in preparing shutdowns that run safely, efficiently and to plan, we’d love to hear from you.
