This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on tax work and strategic involvement. You'll work closely with Finance, Legal, Product and Commercial teams to embed tax into business decision-making, while supporting robust compliance, effective risk management and the continued development of a scalable, technology-enabled tax function.\nYou won't just manage tax obligations-you'll help embed tax into business decision-making and shape how the function supports Catawiki's continued growth.\nWhether you're looking to broaden your experience beyond a specialist advisory role or deepen your expertise within an international business environment, this role offers exposure across all major tax disciplines while working closely with business stakeholders.\nAbout the role\nYou will support and further develop Catawiki's tax function across three key areas:\nTax Compliance & Reporting\nManage direct and indirect tax compliance processes;\nCoordinate with external advisors and tax authorities;\nPrepare and review tax provisions and tax reporting under IFRS;\nSupport tax audits, inquiries and controversy processes;\nMonitor tax law developments and assess their business impact.\nTax Risk Management & Business Partnering\nIdentify, assess and manage tax risks and opportunities across the organisation;\nDesign and maintain a robust tax control framework;\nPartner with Finance, Legal, Product and Commercial teams on business initiatives;\nSupport international expansion projects and new business models;\nContribute to the development and execution of Catawiki's tax strategy.\nTax Technology & Process Improvement\nDrive automation and digitisation of tax processes;\nSupport implementation and optimisation of tax technology solutions;\nImprove data quality, controls and reporting capabilities;\nLeverage analytics and AI tools to enhance tax insights and efficiency;\nDesign standardised and scalable tax processes that support growth.\nWhat you’ll do (Your Core Tax Responsibilities)\nManaging direct tax, indirect tax and transfer pricing obligations across multiple jurisdictions;\nSupporting monthly, quarterly and annual tax reporting cycles;\nMaintaining tax documentation, controls and governance frameworks;\nSupporting tax audits, inquiries and regulatory reviews;\nAdvising stakeholders on tax implications of business decisions and strategic initiatives;\nSupporting international expansion projects and new business models;\nDriving improvements in tax processes, systems and reporting capabilities;\nContributing to tax technology, automation and data initiatives.\nYou will gain broad exposure across all major tax disciplines and play an important role in ensuring tax supports Catawiki's continued growth.\nWhat makes this role exciting?\nBroad exposure: Work across corporate income tax, VAT, transfer pricing, tax accounting and tax technology.\nStrategic impact: Influence business decisions, international growth initiatives and the development of Catawiki's tax strategy.\nBusiness partnering: Work closely with Finance, Legal, Product and Commercial teams and see the direct impact of your advice on business decisions.\nOwnership & growth: Take responsibility for key tax processes and projects while helping further develop a scalable and future-ready tax function.\nInnovation: Drive automation, analytics and AI adoption within tax and help shape how technology supports the function.\nBecause we are growing fast, your scope will continue to evolve and we are looking for someone who's excited to grow with it.\nWhat you’ll bring\nExperience & Background\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Tax Law, Economics, Accounting or a related field;\nProfessional qualification (CTA, CPA, RA or equivalent) preferred or in progress;\n3+ years of relevant tax experience gained in a Big 4, law firm, multinational or fast-growing international business;\nExperience across one or more of:\nCorporate income tax;\nIndirect tax (VAT/GST);\nTransfer pricing;\nTax accounting and reporting;\nStrong knowledge of Dutch and European tax frameworks;\nExposure to international business operations and cross-border transactions;\nExperience within technology, e-commerce, marketplace or platform businesses is a plus;\nFluent in English (written and spoken);
