This role contributes to the delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable product data solutions that support Caterpillar's digital commerce, customer experience, and product information initiatives.\nWorking as part of a cross-functional product team, this position partners with business stakeholders, architects, product managers, and external vendors to implement and maintain product data capabilities, integrations, and governance processes. The role combines hands-on technical development with platform administration and operational support to ensure high-quality product information is available across enterprise systems and digital channels\nKey Responsibilities\nAkeneo Platform Development & Configuration\nConfigure and maintain Akeneo entities including product families, family variants, attributes, attribute groups, categories, channels, locales, asset families, and reference entities.\nDevelop and support business workflows, validation rules, enrichment processes, and governance controls.\nImplement scalable product data models aligned with business and enterprise requirements.\nSupport user management, security roles, and access controls within the platform. \nApplication Development\nDesign, build, test, and deploy custom Akeneo applications, extensions, and automation solutions.\nDevelop reusable components and services to improve product onboarding, enrichment, and publishing processes.\nParticipate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices, security standards, and maintainable software design.\nIntegration Engineering\nDesign and develop integrations between Akeneo and enterprise platforms such as Product Information Management (PIM), Master Data Management (MDM), Supplier Data Management (SDM), Digital Asset Management (DAM), and eCommerce solutions.\nBuild and support REST APIs, event-driven integrations, and data synchronization frameworks.\nTroubleshoot and resolve integration issues across upstream and downstream systems. \nData Management & Governance\nExecute product and asset data migration activities.\nSupport import and export processes, data transformations, and validation frameworks.\nEnsure data quality, consistency, and governance standards are maintained.\nCollaborate with business and governance teams to define and implement data standards.\nOperations & Support\nMonitor platform health, integration pipelines, and automated jobs.\nPerform root cause analysis and resolve production issues.\nSupport platform upgrades, releases, and performance optimization initiatives.\nCreate and maintain operational documentation, technical specifications, and support procedures.\nCollaboration & Continuous Improvement\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies and product delivery activities.\nWork closely with architects and technical leads to ensure alignment with enterprise technology standards.\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on scalability, performance, reliability, and operational excellence.\nMentor team members and share technical knowledge across the organization.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.\n6+ years of software development experience.\n2+ years of hands-on experience with Akeneo PIM implementation, development, or administration.\nExperience developing enterprise applications using Java and/or Python.\nExperience working with REST APIs, JSON, and web services.\nExperience using Git-based source control and modern software development practices.\nTop Candidates Will Also Have\nExperience with Akeneo SaaS or Akeneo Serenity editions.\nExperience integrating Akeneo with MDM, DAM, ERP, Supplier Management, or eCommerce platforms.\nKnowledge of AWS cloud services and event-driven architectures.\nUnderstanding of product data modeling, data governance, and data quality management.\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud-native application development.\nFamiliarity with Product Information Management (PIM) and Master Data Management (MDM) concepts.\nExperience supporting large-scale global product catalogs and multilingual product content.\nCritical Skills\nTechnical Skills\nAkeneo PIM Platform\nJava and/or Python Development\nAWS Cloud Services\nREST API Development\nSystem Integration\nData Modeling\nSQL and Data Processing\nGit and CI/CD\nProfessional Skills\nProblem Solving\nCustomer Focus\nCollaboration\nTechnical Communication\nContinuous Learning\nAgile Delivery\nPosting Dates:\nOctober 6, 2026 - October 19, 2026Caterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
