We are looking for an engineering specialist to join our team of experts in developing cutting-edge autonomous and operator-assisted driving systems. As an engineer on the team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing algorithms. You will also collaborate with other engineers and researchers to integrate your solutions into our software stack and hardware platform.\nWhat You Will Do:\nSolve challenging problems for mobile off-road machines.\nParticipate in design and development of high-quality software and algorithms to solve our customer needs.Document architecture specifications, software design, verification plans, test cases, operating procedures, and safety procedures.\n\nWork with application teams to collect and analyze data on customer experience with robotic and manned platforms.\nUse appropriate tools to debug, test and maintain software and assist in the verification and validation process.\nWhat You Have:\nArtificial Intelligence/Autonomy:Have a working knowledge of mobile robotics for autonomy or advanced operator assist systems. This includes a working knowledge of computer vision, machine learning and deep learning techniques and familiarity with lidar, radar and cameras as sensors. \nDesign, write, test and review autonomy and advanced operator assist software\nExperience in Embodied AI\nProven ability to work independently and within a team\n\n Software Development Life Cycle & Programming Languages & Application Development Tools:Have extensive experience of the Agile software development life cycle, the C++ and Python programming languages, Azure DevOps or Jira for project management and work item tracking, standard software development tools (CMake, Git, SonarQube, Docker, GoogleTest, Artifactory) used in development of mobile robot software systems. \nHave a working knowledge of cloud compute and storage tools, AWS EC2, S3, and Batch\nHave experience with ROS or Caterpillar’s Autonomous Infrastructure Software (AIS), OpenCV, Tensorflow/PyTorch, and code development tools.\nExtensive experience participating in efforts to develop, integrate, or test complex autonomy systems that meet prioritized requirements and time frame constraints for autonomous machine programs focusing on machine safety and productivity.\nAbility to solve complex issues spanning multiple subsystems.\n\nProblem Solving:Have extensive experience in autonomy for mobile robotics with the following:\nExperience solving challenging problems in autonomy and operator assist systems\nA passion for innovation and problem-solving\nExcellent communication and teamwork skills\nStrong mathematics skills\n\nEducation Requirements: Requires a degree or multiple degrees in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or related field\nConsideration for Top Candidates:\nProven experience supporting Product Development for on-road/off-road software engineering projects.\n2+ years' experience supporting platform level development projects and interfacing with internal development groups\nExperience with Core Robotics Planning level development projects\nExperience with NVDIA hardware preferred\nAdditional Information:\nThis position requires the candidate to work full-time at the Irving (Dallas), TX Office.\nRelocation assistance is available for this position\nVisa sponsorship is NOT available with this position.\nThis position will require up to 10% travel\nSummary Pay Range:\n$97,530.00 - $158,480.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-relatedknowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
