This role partners closely with technical and business stakeholders to solve complex challenges, establish engineering best practices, drive modern software delivery through CI/CD, and ensure AI-enabled capabilities are secure, reliable, and compliant. As a senior technical leader, you will influence the platform's architecture, mentor development teams, and help shape the future of one of Caterpillar Financial's most visible technology transformation initiatives.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead proof-of-concept and development work for new capabilities, and partner with the Team Leader and development team to take them into production\nDesign and build full stack features across React/TypeScript front ends, Python or Node.js services and APIs, and AWS cloud services\nDrive UI/UX and front-end architecture decisions so Artemis stays intuitive, consistent, and easy to use as it grows\nBuild AI-enabled capabilities and agent-based workflows, including prompt and context design, evaluation, and guardrails that keep them safe and reliable\nDesign and build integrations with enterprise systems such as Snowflake, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, and GitHub\nEstablish reusable patterns, coding standards, and shared components for the platform\nWrite and maintain automated tests, and help build the test coverage and pipeline practices that move the team toward CI/CD\nSupport production deployments, and provide production support as needed: troubleshoot complex issues, lead root-cause analysis, and drive lasting fixes\nReview pull requests in GitHub and mentor developers, reducing key-person dependency and building depth across the team\nWork with architecture and security partners to test emerging technologies, guide their implementation, and ensure solutions meet Cat Financial's standards and audit requirements\nDemo new capabilities to stakeholders and turn their feedback into clear technical next steps\nWhat You Bring\n5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including building and supporting production applications\nStrong front-end experience with React and TypeScript\nStrong back-end experience building services and APIs in Python or Node.js\nHands-on experience with AWS cloud services (for example serverless compute, API management, storage, and managed AI services)\nExperience building integrations with enterprise systems (for example Snowflake, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, GitHub)\nExperience working with relational databases and REST APIs\nProficiency with GitHub-based workflows, including branching, pull requests, and code review\nHands-on experience building applications with generative AI, such as working with large language models, agent-based workflows, retrieval, and evaluation\nA track record of turning prototypes into production-ready, maintainable solutions\nExperience writing automated tests and supporting release and deployment processes\nStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through ambiguous problems\nClear communication with both technical and non-technical audiences\nTop candidates will have\nExperience delivering AI agents or LLM-based solutions in production\nExperience in financial services or other regulated industries (SOX, audit, IT risk)\nExperience setting architecture patterns, coding standards, or reusable components for a team or platform\nExperience mentoring developers or serving as technical lead for a development team\nExperience building automated test suites and CI/CD pipelines\nExperience designing component libraries or shared UI frameworks\nUnderstanding of secure application development practices\nExperience with workflow, low-code, or process automation platforms\nExperience with Agile delivery and Azure DevOps\nWhat Success Looks Like\nProofs of concept are proven quickly and delivered to production with the team\nEstablished patterns and standards are adopted across the platform\nAI capabilities deliver measurable improvements to delivery workflows\nAutomated test coverage grows, moving the team closer to CI/CD\nPlatform knowledge is shared, reducing key-person dependency\nDegree Requirement\nA bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience is required.\nCompensation & Benefits:\nSummary Pay Range: $118,860.00 - $190,176.00\nCompensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience.
