BAT Training Specialist - 1st Shift- $31.78/hour

Location: Lafayette, Indiana

Job Description:

Under general supervision, the BAT Training Specialist is responsible for delivering Assembly Cart training, qualification activities, coaching and employee development for full-time and agency employees. This role helps build the skills, confidence, and proficiency needed to succeed in a manufacturing environment.

The Training Specialist partners with Operations, Safety, Training Auditors, and subject matter experts across the organization to support employee development, strengthen workforce capability and promote a positive learning experience. To support organizational needs, Training Specialists are expected to develop and maintain proficiency across both Assembly and Machining training programs. Voluntary overtime opportunities may be available based on business needs and employee qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and identify training needs for full-time and agency employees.
  • Support the coordination and scheduling of training activities.
  • Evaluate employee and agency worker skill levels and identify development opportunities.
  • Maintain and update training records accurately.
  • Ensure adherence to established standard work practices.
  • Deliver Assembly Cart training and other training as required.
  • Collaborate with the training team to support onboarding, qualification, refresher, and workforce development activities as needed
  • Communicate and reinforce standard work instructions through coaching and hands-on support.
  • Partner with Operations to strengthen workforce capability and employee readiness.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two or more years of experience in manufacturing, workforce development, training, leadership, coaching, or a related field.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, training, or developing others in a professional setting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and facilitate learning with individuals and groups.
  • Ability to interpret and follow standardized work instructions and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and basic computer systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience delivering classroom, on-the-job, or hands-on training.
  • Experience evaluating employee performance, skills, or qualifications.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education, Training & Development, Human Resources, Business, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience maintaining training records, learning management systems, or qualification databases.
  • Experience leading teams, projects, or continuous improvement initiatives.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.

  • Must be able to stand on concrete for 8+ hours.

Additional Information:

  • Shift: 1st Shift (6:30am-2:30pm)

Summary Pay Range:

$31.78 - $40.43
