LPSD products and solutions support customers across power generation, industrial, marine, oil & gas, rail, services and Cat® machine applications worldwide.\nJob Summary\nThe Manufacturing Engineer/CMM Programmer fluidly translates information from 3D engineering models and Caterpillar blueprints into building CMM checks for purchased finished goods in Supplier Quality. The person will create, run off, debug, and maintain CMM checks to support production, receiving inspections, APQP/PPAP, warranty claims and line failures. The person will work with suppliers to collaborate CMM data in PC DMIS. This position may also cover mobile arm support and assist the team in technical support.\nThis is a fast pace, problem solving job that requires solid prioritization and time management coupled with strong record keeping skills. This position serves as a resource for Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Quality, and the supply base. This position will close on 11/04/2026 at 11:59pm ET.\nWhat you will do:\nTraining and assistance for daily operations\nSpecialized CMM programs or data collection procedures\nAssistance in interpretation of CMM reports and data\nRecommendations on current and future systems, procedures, training, and equipment\nThe Quality Department serves a great number of customers and, even under pressure; this individual must maintain a professional, customer focus. This individual must be willing to meet goals and objectives and accept special assignments often as the need arises\nThe primary focus of this position is to write CMM programs to support production, engineering, and assist in driving to root causes of concerns\nRead blueprints and understand the GD&T aspects of the prints and use this data to diagnose and trouble shoot issues\nA successful Manufacturing Engineer - CMM Programmer will be able to create checks in PC DMIS that focus on special design characteristics and features that ensure quality parts\nEducation:\n2-year technical degree or relevant experience in CMM Operation, CMM Programming, or Machining Experience\nWhat you will have:\nCollaborative Automation: Knowledge of techniques and processes of collaborative automation; ability to develop and deploy manufacturing processes\nDecision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment\nEngineering - MFG: Knowledge of processes, techniques and methods of engineering in a manufacturing environment; ability to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective or invention\nLean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes\nManufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process\nProblem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations\nRobotic Process Automation (RPA): Knowledge of techniques and processes of robotic process automation (RPA); ability to develop and deploy RPA solutions in various industries \nTop candidates will also have:\nCMM operation and/or prior machining experience\nExperience with PC DMIS, Calypso, Polyworks programming experience\nSkills in EPIX, MS Word, Excel, HVC, AMS, EIMS, Pro-E, Creo and Visual Basic\nKnowledge and experience in computer-controlled operations\nProgramming computer skills and experience with gages, layout, and machining\nHands on experience in CNC and conventional machining operations such as milling, drilling, boring, tapping, broaching, etc.\nOperation of CMM’s, require the knowledge and use of programming languages such as Polyworks and PC-DMIS\nBlueprint reading experience\nSelf-directed, quality and safety minded individual, with a keen interest in learning.
