Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.\nThe Opportunity\nAn exciting opportunity exists within the Component Engineering department to lead design and development of low-pressure fuel system components on our C2.8/C3.6 platform, across new and current products.\nAs part of a small, friendly team, you will collaborate with a global team of engineers, suppliers and production facilities, shaping solutions from concept to production that achieve world-class levels of quality and reliability.\nAdditional Info:\nOpportunity for occasional Business Travel.\nThis position is 5 days in the office role based in Peterborough, UK\nWhat You Will Do:\nComponent owner for C3.6 & C2.8 engine platform Low Pressure Fuel System\nManagement of current production LPFS components for Cost/Quality/Maintenance\nSupport new technology projects to deliver new fuel filter options\nPlan and deliver fuel system/component development projects to time, cost and quality goals.\nCommunicate project status and key issues to peers, stakeholders and management.\nCollaborate with suppliers to develop specifications and deliver quality solutions through APQP.\nAssess technical risk through FMEA; define and coordinate simulation and validation activities (DVP&R).\nInvestigate and resolve complex technical issues using 8D methodology.\nWrite and review technical information and technical reports to support production design release.\nCollaborate with global teams to implement engineering solutions at worldwide facilities.\nWhat You Have:\nTechnical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
