Working closely with suppliers, you will lead design and development activities, manufacturing process reviews, supplier audits, and CPPD initiatives to improve product quality, performance, and manufacturing capability. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and cost-effective solutions that meet customer and business requirements.\nJOB DUTIES:\nThe incumbent will work closely with suppliers, manufacturing teams, quality organizations, and global engineering teams to develop console systems and related components that achieve Caterpillar requirements for quality, performance, manufacturability, and cost.\nKey responsibilities include:\nLead the design and development of console systems and related Operator Station components.\nDevelop product requirements and conduct design reviews for plastic, sheet metal, and functional components.\nCollaborate with suppliers to drive product development, validation activities, and technical issue resolution.\nConduct supplier audits, manufacturing process reviews, and CPPD activities to improve product and process quality.\nInvestigate product quality issues and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.\nPartner with purchasing, quality, manufacturing, and global engineering teams to support new product development, product improvements, quality enhancement, and cost reduction initiatives.\nThis role requires a strong understanding of plastic component development, sheet metal design, manufacturing processes, supplier management, and quality systems.\nSkill Descriptors:\nTechnical Expertise:\nExperience in plastic component design, injection molding processes, and sheet metal component development.\nUnderstanding of manufacturing processes, tooling considerations, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).\nExperience conducting supplier audits and manufacturing process assessments.\nStrong skills in data analysis, root cause analysis, and problem-solving.\nExperience managing technical requirements and validation activities.\nCollaboration and Communication:\nAbility to effectively collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.\nStrong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.\nExperience supporting CPPD activities and supplier quality improvement initiatives.\nAbility to influence technical discussions and drive development activities to completion.\nContinuous Learning:\nCommitment to developing expertise in plastic technologies, manufacturing processes, and Operator Station components.\nAdaptability to evolving technologies and supplier development challenges.\nDemonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.\nOthers\nLocation: Akashi, Japan\nThis position requires working onsite five days a week.\nThis position requires working onsite five days a week.Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position.Posting Dates:\n11月 2, 2026 - 11月 10, 2026Caterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
