This role is responsible for developing analytical models, generating insights, and enabling process partners through effective use of advanced analytics tools and techniques. The position is based in Bangalore and reports to the Analytics Manager.\nWhat You Will Do\nLead analytics and optimization projects across transportation, logistics, supply chain, network design, and transportation modeling domains.\nDevelop and enhance transportation models and digital supply chain solutions to optimize costs, improve service levels, and support strategic decision-making.\n Analyze transportation and logistics data to drive network optimization, freight efficiency, carrier performance, and cost reduction opportunities.\nBuild robust data pipelines, ETL processes, dashboards, and visualizations to support modeling, forecasting, and operational decision-making.\nCollaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable analytical solutions and drive continuous improvement, automation, and innovation in transportation analytics.\nWhat You Have:\nDomain Expertise\nKnowledge of Supply Chain, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Transportation Modeling, Logistics Optimization\nTechnical Skills\nStrong proficiency in Python for AI/ML, optimization, analytics, and automation.\nExperience with SQL, data engineering and data integration.\nWorking knowledge of AI/ML, Generative AI, Operations Research, and predictive analytics.\nExperience developing dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI or similar tools.\nValues-Based Competencies (VBCs)\nIntermediate to advanced proficiency in:\nIntegrity & Trust\nBuilding Inclusive Relationships\nCustomer Focus\nProblem Solving\nPriority Setting\nDecision Making\nRequired Qualifications & Experience\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related fields.\n4-6 years of experience in logistics analytics, transportation, optimization & simulation, machine learning, or AI.\nStrong proficiency in Python and SQL/SAS\nExperience using MS Office tools and standard statistics/data visualization tools.\nStrong communication, presentation, analytical, and project management skills.\nAbility to work collaboratively in team settings with high attention to detail.\nDesired Qualifications\nBasic working knowledge of supply chain optimization tools (e.g., BY Transportation Modeler, Supply Chain Guru, or similar).\nExperience developing data science solutions in Python (ML, AI, Optimization).\nSkilled in Microsoft Office 365.\nExperience with visualization tools such as Power BI or similar\nCaterpillar is not currently hiring individuals for this position who now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status; however, as a global company, Caterpillar offers many job opportunities outside of India which can be found through our employment website at www.caterpillar.com/careers.\nWhat You Will Get:\nOur goal at Caterpillar is for you to have a rewarding career.
