Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.\nJob Summary\nThe Caterpillar’s Drivetrain team in Mexico designs and supports drivetrain components used across Caterpillar machines and OEM applications. We are looking for a senior engineer and design team lead for drivetrain hydraulic components including transmission valves, gear pumps and engine oil pumps. This position will provide design leadership through the entire lifecycle of the components, from concept to production implementation to production maintenance and supporting our end customers.\nResponsibilities\nTeam lead for 2-4 drivetrain hydraulic components engineers.\nActing as a mentor and work coordinator for junior engineers.\nCreating new designs that meet all technical and business requirements.\nAnalyzing End of Line test data and providing recommendations for problem resolution and design improvement.\nProviding engineering support to hydraulic components facilities, working in collaboration with the Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams and U.S. Drivetrain Design team.\nCompleting Design FMEAs and Technical Reviews to establish risk and corresponding validation plans.\nCompleting and/or coordinating analysis activities to evaluate new designs.\nWorking with suppliers and purchasing teams when sourcing parts to a supplier.\nProvide technical assessment and guidance to resolve production part quality issues.\nAssess if part nonconformances are acceptable for use.\nParticipate in APQP activities.\nEducation Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics or Aerospace Engineering.\nAdvanced English-speaking level is required \nSkills the candidate must have\nTechnical Excellence\nHands-on knowledge in design of hydraulic components or systems.\nDirect knowledge in casting components design.\nComputer-Aided Design & Engineering\nProficiency in Creo modeling.\nProduct Design and Development\nDemonstrated application of DFMEA, APQP, and PPAP.\nEffective Communications\nProject management or leadership knowledge.\nBilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong interpersonal skills.\nAdditional Information:\nThis position will be located in Caterpillar´s Cienega de Flores campus.\nWork schedule is set Monday to Friday 7am-4pm.
