The individual hired for this position will design, develop, and deliver IO processing software for Caterpillar NPI programs. This individual works in close collaboration with cross-functional teams consisting of hardware engineers, software engineers, and system engineers. As a part of the System Diagnostics team, this individual will focus on implementing on-board diagnostics solutions that will help minimize product downtime along with providing value added Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) and related service features.\nWhat You Will Do:\nDesign, development, and enhancement of system diagnostics software.\nLead multiple programs and be responsible for identifying deliverables, specifying and tracking budget, developing the software and performing verification testing\nDesign and implement electronic control systems including all input and output components wired to the electronic control module to ensure compatibility, determine failure modes, and develop on-board diagnostic strategies\nCreation of detailed software specs from high level customer requirements\nIdentification and resolution of software defects, and proper issue list submissions and management \nWhat you will have:\nRequirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.\nAnalytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.\nEffective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.\nSoftware Development: Knowledge of software design and development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements.\nTechnical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation\nConsideration for top candidates:\nA bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Technology or a related field from an accredited school\nExtensive engineering experience is typically aligned with the seniority for this position\nUnderstanding of embedded programming languages (C or C++) and Matlab/Simulink.\nStrong foundation in system software development, including validation of embedded systems and diagnostics\nAbility to facilitate highly collaborative worldwide teams in multiple organizations and functions to drive results and resolve complex issues.\nThe candidate must be detail oriented and a proven “self starter,” with a strong record of achievement and results.\nAdditional Details:\nThis position requires the candidate to work full-time at the Mossville, IL office.\nDomestic relocation assistance is available for this position.\nVisa sponsorship is NOT available with this position.\nThis position will require up to 10% travel\nSummary Pay Range:\n$128,470.00 - $192,710.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-relatedknowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
