In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting enterprise-scale applications while working closely with business users, architects, analysts, and global development teams. You will contribute to the delivery of reliable, scalable, and secure software solutions that support critical procurement processes.\nThe preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore - Caterpillar PSN\nThis position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule.\nShift Timing: 01:00-10:00PM IST\nProcurement-CAT IT Division\nThe incumbent would provide application and technical leadership to a global team responsible for the development and support of Strategic Sales systems. Applying systems solutions to business/technical problems through customer interactions, and by providing assistance to less experienced analysts in the design, programming, debugging, testing, and integration/implementation of complex, medium to large-sized automated information technology systems.\nThis role will provide programming and application/technical leadership, guidance, mentoring and assistance to support team members, including onsite and offshore, for a suite of around 40 applications\nThe preference for this role is to be based out of Whitefield PSN Office, Bangalore, India\nWhat you will do\nDesign, develop, test, and implement Java-based applications and services supporting procurement business functions.\nParticipate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support.\nTroubleshoot and resolve application issues, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents.\nCollaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.\nDevelop and maintain APIs, integrations, and backend services to support enterprise applications.\nWork with relational and cloud-based databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, and Snowflake.\nPerform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, security best practices, and development guidelines.\nSupport application enhancements, defect resolution, and system modernization initiatives.\nParticipate in root cause analysis, problem management, and continuous improvement activities.\nCollaborate with onsite and offshore teams to ensure successful project delivery and operational excellence.\nSupport deployment activities, infrastructure changes, and disaster recovery planning as needed.\nContribute to Agile development processes, sprint planning, and technical documentation.\nWhat you will have\nRequires a relevant degree in IT/Computer Science, technical certification, or equivalent experience.\nRequires 6 to 12 years of experience in software development and support.\nExperience in development in relevant programming languages (preferrable Java); using relational databases (Oracle, SQLServer, DB2, Snowflake), and underlying infrastructure elements, and current development processes and tools.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to lead a diverse and globally located team\nThe position requires the candidate to work a 5-a day -week schedule in the office.\nShift: 01:00-10PM IST\nSkill Descriptors\nCore Application Systems: Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.\nLevel Working Knowledge:\n Helps create contingency plans to mitigate impact of disruption on core applications.\nIdentifies key players, criticalities, roles, and responsibilities.\nInvestigates application-related issues with both business and IT professionals.\nRecommends enhancements for a major application system or related subsystems.\nWorks with core application systems for a major business unit or function.
