We are looking for innovative, highly competent java architect to join our team to help drive the ongoing development of our cloud-based technology projects.\nThis position requires extensive experience applying Java, cloud and mobile (or) web application technologies.\nRequired Skills: \nPosition requires a four-year degree from an accredited college or university.\n\n14 years or more of software development with 8+ years or more of experience in designing and developing software applications in Java at scale.\n\nStrong experience in JAVA and J2EE technologies with Cloud based environment.\n\nExpert knowledge in JPA, Hibernate, JDBC, SQL, Spring, JUnit and JSON, REST/JSON web services.\n\nStrong knowledge in Java Design Patterns.\n\nDevelopment and implementation of features in any Cloud platform products and technologies.\n\nExperience developing applications with Agile team methodologies preferred.\n\nStrong Object-Oriented design skills and understanding of MVC.\n\nSufficient experience with Git to organize a large software project with multiple developers to include branching, tagging and merging.\n\nDesired Skills:\nExperience in AWS / Azure cloud (PaaS) with Java is a plus.\n\nStrong business application design skills.\n\nExcellent communications and interpersonal skills.\n\nStrong debugging skills.\n\nHighly proficient in standard Java development tools (Eclipse, Maven, etc.)\n\nA strong interest in building security into applications from the initial design.\n\nExperience at creating technical project Documentation and task time estimates.\n\nIn-depth knowledge of at least one high-level programming language\n\nUnderstanding of core AWS services, uses, and basic AWS architecture best practices\n\nProficiency in developing, deploying, and debugging cloud-based applications using AWS\n\nAbility to use the AWS service APIs, AWS CLI, and SDKs to write applications\n\nAbility to identify key features of AWS services\n\nUnderstanding of the AWS shared responsibility model\n\nUnderstanding of application lifecycle management\n\nAbility to use a CI/CD pipeline to deploy applications on AWS\n\nAbility to use or interact with AWS services\n\nAbility to apply a basic understanding of cloud-native applications to write code\n\nAbility to write code using AWS security best practices (e.g., not using secret and access keys in the code, instead using IAM roles)\n\nAbility to author, maintain, and debug code modules on AWS\n\nProficiency writing code for serverless applications\n\nUnderstanding of the use of containers in the development process\n\nPosting Dates:\nSeptember 20, 2026 - September 26, 2026Caterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
