Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.\nJob Summary\nAs a Machine Operator I, you will perform key duties associated with the machining of engine blocks and cylinder heads for Caterpillar Diesel Engines. Reporting to Production Managers, you will be part of a dynamic operations team dedicated to high-quality production.\nWhat you will do:\nOperate machining equipment to produce high-quality parts free of defects \nMaintain records related to inventory, quality, defective parts, and equipment \nMaintain a safe and clean workstation \nMeet or exceed production standards as set by the company \nSubmit and assist with Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives \nFollow standard operating procedures and specific work instructions. \nCommunicate with supervisors and managers about processes within the assigned area \nPerform other duties as assigned to support overall production goals \nWhat you will have:\nA minimum of 2 months’ experience in a machining or manufacturing environment \nExperience with electronic standard work or standard operating procedures (SOPs) \nStrong teamwork and collaboration skills \nExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written \nComfort working in cross-functional teams and contributing to problem-solving \nWhat would make you a top candidate:\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite \nCertification in 2 or more relevant technical stations (or willingness to obtain) \nFamiliarity with Caterpillar’s safety standards and continuous improvement programs \nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time \nAbility to perform repetitive operations \nAbility to lift up to 35 lbs. \nWe are committed to ensuring a supportive and accommodating work environment for all employees.
