The role ensures maximum equipment availability, optimal paint quality, environmental compliance, and safe operations across pretreatment, e-coat, powder coating, liquid paint, and curing processes. The position requires extensive experience with robotic paint application systems and automated paint shop technologies.\nKey Responsibilities\nMaintenance & Reliability Leadership\nLead all mechanical, electrical, robotics, controls, and utility maintenance activities in the paint shop.\nDevelop and implement preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs.\nEstablish maintenance KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.\nEnsure paint shop equipment availability exceeds business targets.\nMinimize downtime through proactive maintenance planning and root cause elimination.\nRobotics & Automation Management\nLead maintenance and troubleshooting of robotic paint systems including:\nABB Paint Robots\nKUKA Paint Robots\nEnsure reliable operation of:\nRobot applicators and atomizers\nRobot controllers and teach pendants\nPaint dosing and color change systems\nVision systems and process monitoring equipment\nServo motors, drives, and robotic axes\nManage robot programming backup, restoration, and software upgrades.\nCoordinate robot calibration, TCP validation, and path optimization.\nSupport robotic cycle-time improvements and paint transfer efficiency projects.\nPaint Shop Equipment Maintenance\nResponsible for maintenance of:\nPretreatment systems\nPhosphating systems\nE-Coat systems\nPowder coating equipment\nPaint circulation systems\nSpray booths\nPaint kitchen systems\nOvens and curing equipment\nConveyors and skids\nLift systems and hoists\nAir handling units (AHU)\nExhaust and filtration systems\nPumps, valves, piping systems\nCompressed air systems\nWater treatment plants (WTP)\nEffluent treatment plants (ETP)\nFire protection systems\nControls & Electrical Systems\nMaintain PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems.\nTroubleshoot automated paint process controls.\nEnsure integrity of industrial networks and communication systems.\nSupport Industry 4.0 initiatives and smart manufacturing projects.\nManage system backups and cybersecurity compliance for automation equipment.\nReliability & Continuous Improvement\nImplement TPM and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM).\nConduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA).\nUtilize predictive maintenance technologies:\nVibration Analysis\nThermography\nUltrasound Inspection\nOil Analysis\nImprove Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).\nLead maintenance cost reduction initiatives.\nSafety, Environmental & Regulatory Compliance\nEnsure compliance with all EHS regulations.\nMaintain safe operation of paint systems involving flammable materials.\nImplement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.\nEnsure compliance with VOC emission standards and environmental regulations.\nConduct safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard analyses.\nSupport ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 compliance requirements.\nCapital Projects & Plant Expansion\nLead installation and commissioning of paint robots and automation systems.\nSupport greenfield and brownfield paint shop projects.\nManage equipment upgrades and modernization programs.\nCoordinate with OEMs, integrators, suppliers, and contractors.\nEnsure maintainability requirements are incorporated into new equipment specifications.\nBudget & Asset Management\nPrepare and manage annual maintenance budgets.\nControl maintenance costs while maintaining reliability targets.\nOptimize spare parts inventory, including critical robot spare components.\nManage vendor contracts and service agreements.\nDevelop long-term asset replacement strategies.\nTeam Leadership & Development\nLead a multidisciplinary team of:\nMechanical Engineers\nElectrical Engineers\nAutomation Engineers\nRobotics Engineers\nSupervisors and Technicians\nDevelop technical training programs focused on robotics and automation.\nBuild succession plans and technical competency matrices.\nDrive a high-performance, accountable maintenance culture.\n________________________________________\nEducational Qualifications\nRequired\nBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.\nPreferred\nCertifications in:\nTPM\nReliability Engineering\nSix Sigma Green/Black Belt\nProject Management\nABB or KUKA Robot Programming & Maintenance\n________________________________________\nExperience\nRequired\n5-15 years of maintenance experience in automotive, off-highway, engine, genset, or industrial manufacturing.\nMinimum 5 years in a maintenance leadership role.\nMinimum 5 years of hands-on experience with robotic paint application systems.\nPreferred\nExperience in automotive OEM paint shops.\nGreenfield facility setup and commissioning experience.\nExperience with Industry 4.0 and digital manufacturing systems.\nExposure to automated paint lines with 20+ robots.\n________________________________________\nTechnical
