Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.\nJob Purpose\nThe Technology Manager - Electrical & Cab Systems will lead the MTP India engineering team responsible for Electrical Lines Integration (ELI) and Cab systems, providing people leadership, technical direction, system ownership, and execution excellence across current and future Medium Tractor Products.\nThe role will build and develop a strong India-based systems engineering organization capable of partnering effectively with global MTP teams and delivering product-development commitments across scope, timing, cost, quality, reliability and customer requirements.\nThe Technology Manager will be accountable for developing engineering capability, assuring technical quality, deploying resources against business priorities, strengthening global collaboration, and developing the next generation of technical and project leaders within the organization.\nThe proposed organization already combines Electrical Lines Integration & Cab under one SG24 Technology Manager and identifies the team as an L4 systems organization.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the Electrical & Cab Systems Organization\nLead the MTP India Electrical Lines Integration and Cab Systems team.\nSet priorities and align resources to NPI, NTI, NSI and current-product needs.\nDefine India/global workshare and grow India system project ownership.\nProvide L4 Systems Leadership\nOwn technical direction for electrical installation and cab systems.\nEnsure robust requirements, integration, FMEA, validation and release.\nBalance reliability, cost, safety and customer needs; resolve system issues.\nDeliver Program & Product Commitments\nDeliver to scope, timing, cost and quality targets.\nPlan milestones and resources; mitigate technical and schedule risks.\nClose design, manufacturing, supplier and field issues on time.\nGlobal Cross-Functional Collaboration\nAct as primary India interface for global Electrical & Cab stakeholders.\nCollaborate across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, suppliers and quality.\nInfluence decisions and represent the team in global reviews.\nBuild Technical Capability & Engineering Excellence\nBuild a capability roadmap and close critical skill gaps.\nGrow engineers toward subsystem and L4 system ownership.\nDrive mentoring, knowledge transfer, Lean/CPI and automation.\nPeople Leadership & Talent Development\nAttract, develop and retain high-performing engineering talent.\nCoach on performance and build succession for critical roles.\nFoster ownership, inclusion and continuous improvement.\nThe current organizational proposal anticipates Technology Managers with a focused L4 mandate and approximately 15 to 20 direct reports.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's/master’s in electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Automotive Engineering.\nStrong product-development experience in off-highway, automotive or similar complex products.\nProven experience leading engineering teams.\nSolid grasp of systems engineering and product-development processes.\nTrack record delivering to scope, schedule, cost and quality.\nExperience working with global, cross-functional teams.\nStrong leadership, communication, influencing and problem-solving skills.\nPreferred Experience\nExperience with electrical installation, electrical architecture, harnessing, cab/operator environment or related machine systems.\nExperience leading subsystem or machine-level engineering.\nExperience with NPI, NTI, NSI and current-product engineering.\nWorking knowledge of FMEA, APQP, validation, DFM&A, engineering release and structured problem solving.\nExperience with product cost, quality improvement and manufacturing/supplier collaboration.\nExperience leading geographically distributed engineering teams.\nLean, CPI or Six Sigma experience.\nTop Candidates Will Also Have\nProven record of developing electrical and cab engineers into subsystem and L4 owners.\nExperience building skill matrices and development plans for electrical and cab competencies.\nStrength in setting clear goals and running regular performance check-ins.\nAbility to differentiate performance, recognize top talent and address gaps promptly.\nExperience leading 15-20 direct reports, including leads and engineers at mixed levels.\nTrack record of succession planning and retaining critical technical talent.\nAdditional Details\nWork location: Chennai, WTC\nThis position may require travel up to 10%\nThis position requires working onsite five days a week.Relocation is available for this position.Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position.Posting Dates:\nNovember 4, 2026 - November 17, 2026Caterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
