Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.\nPerformance/Simulation/Application Engineer \nMossville, IL\nJob Summary:\nThe Large Power System Division currently seeking a Catalyst Performance/Simulation/Application Engineer who will support the development and application of aftertreatment systems through catalyst sizing, performance simulation, system analysis, and validation. The engineer will use simulation and test data to evaluate catalyst performance, optimize aftertreatment system sizing, and provide technical recommendations supporting product development and application programs.\nWhat you will do: \nPerform catalyst performance modeling and sizing to support aftertreatment applications.\nEvaluate catalyst sizing alternatives and aftertreatment capability across operating conditions.\nAnalyze test-cell and field data to assess aftertreatment performance; this type of data review is specifically included in your prior requisition.\nUse simulation results and experimental data to identify performance gaps and recommend technical solutions.\nSupport catalyst and aftertreatment system selection, sizing, and application decisions.\nDevelop and communicate technical conclusions, assumptions, risks, and recommendations.\nPartner with design, test, controls, application, and program teams to resolve aftertreatment performance issues.\nSupport project execution by providing timely analysis, technical direction, and documentation.\nEducation and Experience Requirement:\nMaster’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\nHands-on experience performing catalyst sizing and catalyst performance simulation/modeling.\nDemonstrated experience evaluating aftertreatment system capability and catalyst sizing tradeoffs, consistent with responsibilities identified in the existing engineering requisition. \nExperience analyzing engineering data and translating simulation or test results into technical recommendations.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly to engineering teams and project stakeholders\n\nSkills you will have:\nProcess Management: Working knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.\nAccuracy and Attention to Detail: Working knowledge and understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.\nAnalytical Thinking: Working knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.\nEffective Communications: Working knowledge and understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.\nProblem Solving: Extensive knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.\nTechnical Excellence: Working knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.\nProject Management: Basic knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.\nComputer-Aided Design & Engineering: Working knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test product design drafts\n\nTop Candidates Will Have:\nExperience with diesel or natural-gas engine aftertreatment systems.\nExperience with catalyst technologies and system-level aftertreatment development.\nExperience correlating simulation predictions with laboratory, test-cell, or field results.\nKnowledge of emissions performance, exhaust thermal conditions, conversion efficiency, and catalyst aging/deterioration.\nExperience supporting new-product or application-development programs.\nFamiliarity with catalyst canning and DEF system components.\nAbility to work/lead multiple projects simultaneously and to make sound priority decisions.\nAdditional Information:\nThis position is located in Mossville, IL.\nDomestic relocation assistance is available for this position. \nVisa sponsorship is available for this position. \nPlease ensure you frequently sign in to your candidate home for any updates or correspondence for positions that you have applied for. https://cat.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/CaterpillarCareers.\nKeep a frequent check on emails as correspondence will be sent to the email that you used to apply with.\nSummary Pay Range:\n$97,530.00 - $146,290.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-relatedknowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
