Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.\nThe Large Power Systems Division currently has an opening for an Engineering Team Lead within our Aftertreatment & Exhaust Systems (AT&ES) performance engineering team. The Engineering Team Lead acts as a lead and an individual contributor, bringing technical expertise to the project as well as leading/coordinating the efforts of others. This role will give you the opportunity to help customers with clean power solutions by creating new and innovative aftertreatment design solutions. With your help, our products will continue to significantly reduce harmful diesel and gas engine exhaust emissions.\nJob summary:\nThis Project Lead role will be responsible for leading projects focused on the evaluation and introduction of alternate aftertreatment components into existing solutions. The role will lead projects from initial opportunity identification through technical evaluation, validation, and successful factory implementation. This includes understanding system interactions, evaluating technical tradeoffs, developing validation plans, and working through issues that arise as solutions are developed and implemented. The position will work closely with engineering experts, purchasing, suppliers, quality, manufacturing, and product groups to ensure solutions meet Caterpillar requirements for performance, quality, reliability, cost, and manufacturability. This role combines hands-on technical execution with project leadership and provides the opportunity to deliver solutions that improve cost competitiveness, supply continuity, and flexibility across our products.\nWhat you will do:\nDevelop project scope to address business challenges and opportunities\nCoordinating resources across the businesses with sales and marketing, product development groups, value chain and manufacturing\nOverseeing project progress and costs; communicating status with stakeholders and participating functional areas; addressing and resolving problems\nDegree Requirement:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering discipline and professional engineering experience\nSkills you must have:\nProducts and Services: Extensive knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.\nTechnical Excellence: Extensive knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.\nInfluencing Through Expertise: Extensive knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.\nProject Management: Expert level knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.\nRequirements Analysis: Extensive knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.\nTroubleshooting Technical Problems: Extensive knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing or product management environment.\nProduct Design and Development: Extensive knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.\n\nTop candidates will also have: \nMaster’s degree in Engineering discipline\nProgressive, professional leadership experience\nDesign experience\nSimulation experience\nEngine performance and/or aftertreatment experience\n\nAdditional Information:\nThis position is located in Mossville, IL and will split time between the Tech Center and AC offices.\nThis position may require less than 15% travel\nDomestic Relocation is available for this position.\nVisa sponsorship is not available for this position.\nSummary Pay Range:\n$128,470.00 - $192,710.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-relatedknowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
