As part of Caterpillar’s digital strategy, the MineStar suite delivers an integrated platform that connects machines and enterprise systems to enable real-time monitoring, control, and optimisation of mining operations.\nTo support this vision, we are evolving our software delivery model through a DevSecOps approach, embedding security, automation, and operational excellence across the software lifecycle.\nWe are seeking an experienced Product Owner - DevSecOps to lead prioritisation and delivery within a DevSecOps enablement team. This role focuses on enabling engineering teams to deliver software faster, more securely, and with greater reliability through platform capabilities, standardised pipelines, and integrated security practices.\nRole Overview\nThe Product Owner - DevSecOps is responsible for defining and prioritising the backlog for DevSecOps capabilities, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, security controls, and developer enablement services.\nThe role acts as the bridge between engineering, security, platform, and business stakeholders, ensuring that DevSecOps investments deliver measurable improvements in delivery velocity, quality, security, and compliance.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevSecOps Backlog OwnershipOwn and prioritise the DevSecOps backlog, aligning with platform strategy, security requirements, and engineering needs.\nDefine and sequence features such as CI/CD pipelines, IaC capabilities, environment provisioning, and security tooling.\n\n Program Increment (PI) Planning & DeliveryLead backlog refinement and planning activities for Program Increments, ensuring clear, prioritised, and outcome-driven deliverables.\nEnsure features deliver measurable improvements in automation, standardisation, and developer experience.\n\n Security & Compliance IntegrationDrive the inclusion of security controls (e.g., scanning, secrets management, policy-as-code) into delivery pipelines.\nEnsure alignment with enterprise compliance frameworks and audit requirements (e.g., ISO, governance standards).\n\nPlatform & Enablement FocusPrioritise initiatives that enable self-service, reusable “golden paths,” and standardised DevSecOps patterns across teams.\nBalance platform standardisation with product team flexibility and adoption.\n\nTechnical Alignment & Architecture EnablementCollaborate with architects and technical leads to support architectural runway, including infrastructure modernisation, pipeline standardisation, and reduction of technical debt.\nEnsure adequate backlog allocation for platform capabilities and engineering enablement.\n\nStakeholder Engagement & CommunicationAct as the primary interface between DevSecOps teams and stakeholders across engineering, security, and leadership.\nProvide clear visibility into priorities, progress, risks, and outcomes.\n\n Value Delivery & Continuous ImprovementDefine success metrics (e.g., deployment frequency, lead time, security posture, incident reduction).\nContinuously refine priorities based on feedback, adoption, and performance data.\n\nExperience Required\n4+ years’ experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in software delivery environments.\nExperience working with DevOps or DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD, cloud platforms, or infrastructure automation.\nProven experience working within Agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, etc.).\nExperience delivering platform or enablement capabilities (preferred).\nSkills Required\nStrong understanding of DevSecOps principles, including automation, security integration, and continuous delivery.\nAbility to translate technical platform capabilities into business value outcomes.\nStrong stakeholder management across engineering, security, and leadership domains.\nAnalytical mindset with the ability to prioritise high-impact initiatives.\nStrong communication and influencing skills in complex, cross-functional environments.\nFamiliarity with modern engineering ecosystems (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub, cloud platforms, IaC tools).\nCompensation & Benefits:\nCompetitive salary based on degree and professional industry working experience.
