This position will oversee and coordinate the activities of a more complex production line, prepare schedules, resolve issues, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.\nWhat You Will Do:\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nCreating reports and records of production processes, tools issues performance, and inventory; sharing them with managers and providing suggestions to improve safety, productivity and quality.\nPreparing, maintaining, and updating documentation related to operating procedures and safety and quality standards; ensuring all processes and products meet desired safety and quality standards.\nSupervising and directing the daily activities of production lines workers, assigning tasks, ensuring coordination between different teams, ensuring their safety and monitoring their performance.\nTraining new hires, managing scheduling and work conflicts, monitoring safety, and promoting internal communication to create a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.\nWhat You Will Have:\n\nProblem Solving (Working Knowledge): Identifies, documents, and resolves operational and process problems using fact-finding and diagnostic tools; considers stakeholder perspectives and weighs the risks and benefits of alternative solutions.\nData Gathering & Analysis (Basic Understanding): Understands the purpose and key objectives of data gathering and can describe and document basic data-gathering techniques and tools.\nPerformance Management (Working Knowledge): Observes performance and provides fair, objective, behavior-focused feedback; identifies development opportunities such as training and shadowing, provides input to formal reviews, and uses rewards and recognition programs.\nAnalytical Thinking (Basic Understanding): Uses analytical tools, techniques, and business analytics software to identify root causes and develop solutions; helps others learn analytics tools and applications.\nDecision Making and Critical Thinking (Working Knowledge): Gathers and organizes relevant data, clarifies and prioritizes concerns, and helps assess risks, benefits, and alternatives to reach informed decisions.\nPlanning and Organizing (Working Knowledge): Breaks work into manageable steps, creates action plans, monitors progress, flags potential bottlenecks, and escalates conflicting priorities.\nEffective Communications (Working Knowledge): Gives and receives constructive, behavior-focused feedback; delivers clear presentations and reports, avoids unnecessary jargon, and considers non-verbal cues.\nAccuracy and Attention to Detail (Basic Understanding): Identifies tasks requiring precision, follows procedures to ensure mistake-free results, and understands the impact of errors on own unit or function.\nWho This Role Is Great For:\nHands-on leaders who enjoy being on the production floor, supporting their teams, and driving results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nIndividuals who make safety and quality a top priority and hold themselves and others accountable to high standards.\nProblem solvers who can quickly identify production issues, find root causes, and keep operations running smoothly.\nPeople developers who enjoy coaching, training new team members, and building a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.\nOrganized planners who can manage schedules, balance competing priorities, and communicate clearly across shifts and teams.\nDegree Requirement:\nDegree or equivalent experience desired\nPreferred Qualifications:\n3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing, production, or remanufacturing environment.\nWorking knowledge of safety programs, OSHA regulations, and quality standards and systems.\nExperience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, or other continuous improvement methods.\nExperience leading teams across multiple shifts, including scheduling, labor planning, and training.\nAbility to track and analyze production metrics such as safety, quality, delivery, and cost to drive improvements.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with ERP or manufacturing systems (such as SAP) is a plus.\nStrong communication and coaching skills, with the ability to build accountability and engagement at all levels.\nWhat You Will Get!\nOur goal at Caterpillar is for you to have a rewarding career.
