Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.\nProduct Compliance Engineer - Genset Compliance Management\nRole Summary\nWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Product Compliance Engineer to lead product safety and compliance management activities for generator set (Genset) products across countries in Rest of World (RoW - Europe, Middle-East, Africa, Asia Pacific, Australia-NZ and Latin America other than United States and Canada). This role is responsible for ensuring products meet all applicable regulatory, safety, and industry certification requirements.\nThe successful candidate will act as the primary interface between the engineering organization and certification agencies in respective regions that could include UL, CSA, and other recognized certification and regulatory bodies, ensuring timely certification, maintenance of approvals, and resolution of compliance-related issues. The role requires close collaboration with Engineering, Sales, Operations, Quality, and external agencies to support product development, certification, and market access objectives.\nThis position also requires periodic travel to test laboratories and certification facilities to witness product testing, support certification activities, and ensure compliance requirements are met. In addition, the role will be responsible for establishing and continuously improving compliance management processes and governance frameworks.\nKey Responsibilities\nCompliance Management\nManage regulatory and compliance requirements for generator set products marketed in countries other than the United States and Canada.\nKnowledgeable in applicable standards, codes, and regulations relevant to gensets and associated electrical systems.\nEnsure products maintain compliance including new product development, product changes, and sustaining engineering activities.\nMonitor evolving regulatory and certification requirements and assess impact on products and business operations.\nCertification & Agency Management\nServe as the primary technical contact for certification agencies,UL / CSA Group\nEU Regulatory & Certification requirements covering the Machinery, EMC, RoHS & Noise Directives\nOther certification, testing, and regulatory organizations as required\n\nCoordinate certification projects, audits, inspections, and follow-up activities.\nManage certification documentation, test reports, technical files, and approval records.\nDrive timely closure of certification findings, non-conformities, and compliance gaps.\nEngineering Support\nProvide compliance guidance to product development and engineering teams during design and development phases.\nReview product designs, drawings, specifications, and change requests for compliance impacts.\nSupport root cause investigations and corrective actions related to compliance issues.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance requirements are incorporated into product designs.\nRegulatory Support & Consultation\nRespond to compliance and regulatory inquiries from:Engineering teams\nSales and commercial teams\nOperations and manufacturing teams\nQuality and service organizations\n\nProvide technical guidance on the application of standards and certification requirements.\nSupport customer and regulatory compliance documentation requests.\nTesting & Validation\nCoordinate compliance testing activities with internal teams and external laboratories.\nDevelop test plans and compliance validation strategies.\nTravel to certification laboratories and test facilities to witness testing and represent the company during certification evaluations.\nReview and approve testing documentation and certification evidence.\nProcess Development & Continuous Improvement\nDevelop, implement, and maintain compliance management processes, procedures, and governance models.\nEstablish compliance metrics, reporting mechanisms, and tracking tools.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives to improve compliance efficiency, reduce certification lead times, and improve product readiness.\nSupport compliance training and awareness programs across the organization.\nQualifications\nEducation\nBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Generation, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\nMaster's Degree is preferred but not required.\nExperience\n8+ years of experience in product compliance, certification, regulatory engineering, or related technical roles.\nExperience with generator sets, power generation equipment, industrial electrical products, or similar engineered products preferred.\nStrong experience working with certification agencies and notified bodies for EU Regulatory certification.
