MineStar Solutions is Caterpillar’s mining technology platform, delivering integrated fleet management, machine guidance, autonomous operations, and enterprise data solutions that help customers optimize site performance and achieve business objectives.\nThe Senior MineStar Application Engineer is the primary on-site technical resource supporting MineStar applications, infrastructure, and operational technologies at the Tucson Proving Grounds (TPG). This role is responsible for maintaining and improving MineStar testing, validation, training, and demonstration environments through expertise in Windows server administration, SQL databases, virtualization, and infrastructure support. The position partners closely with engineering, validation, product support, and operations teams to ensure reliable and secure MineStar system performance.\nWhat You Will Do:\nManage and maintain MineStar server infrastructure, virtual machines, databases, and supporting operational technologies.\nAdminister Windows Server environments, including Active Directory/LDAP user and computer management.\nManage Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) and coordinate server patching and maintenance activities.\nSupport MineStar application deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and operational readiness activities.\nAdminister Microsoft SQL Server environments supporting MineStar applications.\nManage Windows Certificate Authority (CA) services and certificate lifecycle activities.\nDevelop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation tools.\nManage NAS storage infrastructure and data retention processes.\nTroubleshoot complex application, database, networking, and infrastructure issues.\nPartner with engineering, validation, and product support teams to improve reliability and operational performance of MineStar systems.\nWhat You Have:\nTechnical Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, database, networking, and infrastructure issues.\n Systems Administration: Knowledge of Windows Server administration, Active Directory, virtualization technologies (VMware or Hyper-V), system lifecycle management, and enterprise infrastructure.\nDatabase Administration: Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.\nProblem Solving & Communication: Ability to identify root causes, develop solutions, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nEducation Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, operational technologies, or MineStar systems.\nConsideration for Top Candidates:\nExperience supporting MineStar Fleet, Terrain, Health, Detect, or Command systems in production environments.\nExperience deploying, configuring, and maintaining MineStar solutions at mine sites, proving grounds, or customer operations.\nExperience troubleshooting MineStar production issues involving servers, databases, networking, and onboard systems.\nExperience supporting highly available operational systems where uptime is critical.\nExperience working directly with MineStar customers, operations personnel, engineering teams, and product support organizations.\nFamiliarity with mining operations, dispatch systems, machine health systems, and wireless communications networks.\nDemonstrated ability to serve as the primary technical resource for MineStar infrastructure and operational system\nAdditional Information:\nThis position requires the candidate to work full-time onsite at Tucson Proving Grounds.\nDomestic relocation assistance is available for this position.\nVisa sponsorship is NOT available for this position.\nThis position may require up to 10% travel.\nThis position requires working onsite five days a week.\n#LI\nSummary Pay Range:\n$112,710.00 - $183,140.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-relatedknowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
