Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.\nThe MineStar Test & Validation Engineer is responsible for validating Caterpillar's MineStar technology solutions through proving ground, and field-based testing activities. This position works closely with engineering, product support, operations, and customers to ensure MineStar products meet performance, quality, reliability, and customer expectations before release.\nThe successful candidate will serve as a technical expert on MineStar applications and mining workflows while developing and executing validation plans for new features, software releases, machine integrations, and system enhancements. This role requires a strong understanding of MineStar applications, mining operations, and the interaction between onboard systems, infrastructure, communications networks, and software platforms.\nWhat You Will Do:\nPlan, develop, and execute validation activities for MineStar products and features.\nCreate test plans, test procedures, and validation reports to support product development and release readiness.\nValidate MineStar functionality across proving ground and customer-facing environments.\nInvestigate, reproduce, troubleshoot, and document complex software and system issues.\nPartner with development teams to identify root causes and verify corrective actions.\nSupport integration testing involving onboard machine systems, MineStar applications, network infrastructure, and supporting technologies.\nAnalyze test data and provide recommendations to improve product quality, reliability, and customer experience.\nCollaborate with product groups, validation teams, field follow engineers, and MineStar support teams.\nTravel to customer sites as needed to support validation efforts, field investigations, and technology deployments.\nParticipate in new product introductions, field follow activities, and release readiness reviews.\nWhat You Have:\nIndustry Knowledge: Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.Experience working with MineStar Products or mining technology solutions\n\nProblem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.\nSoftware Product Testing: Knowledge of software product testing; ability to design, plan, and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure software product quality and adherence to stated requirements.\no Experience creating and executing structured test plans and validation activities.\n\nTechnical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mining Engineering or related field. \nConsideration for Top Candidates:\nExperience with MineStar Fleet, Terrain, Health, Detect, or Command.\nKnowledge of surface mining operations and production processes.\nExperience supporting MineStar deployments, field installations, or customer operations.\nExperience with software validation, systems integration, or product verification activities.\nFamiliarity with networking, wireless communications, onboard systems, and data collection technologies.\nUnderstanding of GNSS/GPS technologies, machine guidance systems, or autonomous mining solutions.\nExperience utilizing data analysis tools to evaluate product performance and identify issues.\nExperience supporting field follow, NPI, or release validation programs.\nAbility to independently diagnose complex issues across software, hardware, infrastructure, and operational environments.\nAdditional Information:\nThis position requires the candidate to work full-time onsite at Tucson Proving Grounds.\nDomestic relocation assistance is available for this position.\nVisa sponsorship is NOT available for this position.\nThis position may require up to 10% travel.\nThis position requires working onsite five days a week.\n#LI\nSummary Pay Range:\n$112,710.00 - $183,140.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-relatedknowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
