This role serves as the primary SEO leader for the site, partnering with product managers, content strategists, developers, analytics teams, and the Enterprise SEO Center of Excellence to develop and execute a roadmap that improves traffic, engagement, and business outcomes.\nThe ideal candidate combines deep expertise in technical SEO, content optimization, site architecture, and search analytics with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and shape the future of SEO and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) across Caterpillar's digital ecosystem.\nWhat You Will Do\nOwn the SEO strategy and roadmap for Cat.com, identifying opportunities to improve organic visibility, traffic, customer engagement, and business outcomes. \nLead technical SEO initiatives by partnering with product, engineering, and development teams to improve site architecture, crawlability, indexation, schema, page performance, and overall search health. \nDrive content optimization and search discoverability, ensuring content aligns with customer search intent, SEO best practices, and emerging AI-powered search experiences. \nMonitor and analyze SEO performance, establishing KPIs, evaluating traffic and ranking trends, identifying opportunities, and communicating results and recommendations to leadership. \nServe as the SEO subject matter expert for Cat.com, providing guidance, governance, and best practices to cross-functional teams while ensuring alignment with enterprise SEO standards. \nCollaborate across product, content, analytics, and digital teams to integrate SEO requirements into site enhancements, new experiences, content initiatives, and platform changes. \nWhat You Will Have\nCustomer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.\nProducts and Services: Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.\nDecision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.\nNegotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.\nRelationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.\nTechnical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.\nConsiderations for Top Candidates\n5+ years of experience in SEO, digital marketing, content strategy, or related disciplines. \nDeep understanding of technical SEO, content optimization, information architecture, and analytics. \nExperience working with enterprise websites and large-scale content ecosystems. \nExperience using SEO platforms such as BrightEdge, Siteimprove, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and related tools. \nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into strategic recommendations. \nAdditional Information\nThis role can be performed at Cat Digital Hubs, including Chicago, IL | Peoria, IL | Broomfield, CO. \nAbility to travel up to 10% may be required.\nSponsorship is not available\nRelocation is not available\nWhat You Will Get\nWorking with a Fortune 100 leader, you can build your career on a global scale and take advantage of development opportunities with emerging technologies.
