All positions require teamwork and quality customer service. You will partner with and be mentored by an experienced technician, with responsibilities that vary from job to job, including:\nOperating a wash rack to ensure equipment is clean before entering the workshop\n\nDiagnosing and repairing mining equipment\n\nInstrumenting machines for tests using strain gauges, thermocouples, and accelerometers\n\nFabricating and welding prototype parts for tests\n\nSuccessful performance requires sound judgment, motivation, effective interaction with others, and the ability to handle various responsibilities.\nEligibility\nThese positions are open to students who are currently classified as Sophomores (Class of 2029) to Seniors (Class of 2027) currently enrolled and in good academic standing at Sahuarita or Walden Grove High Schools.\nBasic Qualifications\nSafety-first mentality\n\nMust be 16 years of age and a rising junior by the start of the program\n\nMust maintain a 2.5/4.0 cumulative GPA\n\nFull-time student attending a high school in the Sahuarita school district\n\nReliable transportation\n\nAbility to work 40 hours per week during the summer program\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nDemonstrated leadership skills\n\nThese are full-time temporary openings at the Tucson Proving Ground located in Green Valley, AZ.
