This role is embedded within the distribution center environment and works closely with Operations, Inventory Control, Shipping, Receiving, Planning, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams to ensure technology solutions effectively enable business performance and operational excellence.\nAs the functional owner and business technology liaison for the Blue Yonder Warehouse Management System (WMS), the Senior IT Business Partner combines application leadership, business relationship management, process improvement, and project delivery responsibilities. The successful candidate will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, IT teams, software vendors, and system integrators to drive technology adoption, optimize warehouse operations, and deliver continuous business value.\nWhat You Will Do:\nBusiness Partnership & Engagement\nServe as the primary IT contact for all warehouse and distribution center operations.\nBuild strong relationships with business leaders, supervisors, and frontline users.\nTranslate business requirements into technical solutions and system enhancements.\nFacilitate regular reviews of operational challenges, performance metrics, and improvement opportunities.\nParticipate in daily, weekly, and monthly operational meetings.\nBlue Yonder WMS Ownership\nProvide functional ownership and support for the Blue Yonder WMS platform.\nManage system configuration, testing, validation, and deployment of enhancements.\nCoordinate with software vendors and support partners to resolve incidents and implement improvements.\nEnsure system stability, performance, and adherence to service-level expectations.\nSupport warehouse process areas including:Receiving\nPut-away\nInventory Management\nCycle Counting\nWave Planning\nPicking\nPacking\nShipping\nReturns Processing\n\nOperational Support\nServe as escalation point for WMS-related issues impacting distribution center operations.\nCoordinate issue resolution across internal IT teams and external vendors.\nMonitor application health, interfaces, and transactional performance.\nConduct root cause analysis for recurring issues.\nEnsure business continuity plans are maintained and tested.\nContinuous Improvement\nIdentify opportunities to improve warehouse productivity, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.\nLead process improvement initiatives leveraging WMS capabilities.\nSupport automation and digital transformation projects.\nDevelop business cases and prioritize enhancement requests.\nAnalyze operational metrics and recommend process improvements.\nSystems Integration\nWork closely with ERP, transportation, inventory, reporting, and automation teams.\nSupport data integrations between Blue Yonder and other enterprise applications.\nValidate testing for system changes and upgrades.\nParticipate in major projects, new site deployments, and facility expansions.\nUser Enablement & Training\nDevelop and maintain training materials and standard operating procedures.\nDeliver end-user training and onboarding sessions.\nPromote best practices and system adoption across the distribution center.\nAct as a change champion during process and technology transformations.\nGovernance & Compliance\nEnsure appropriate security roles and controls are maintained.\nSupport audit activities and compliance requirements.\nMaintain system documentation, process flows, and support procedures.\nFollow IT governance, cybersecurity, and change management standards.\nWhat You Have:\nBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.\n5+ years of experience supporting Warehouse Management Systems.\n3+ years of experience working with Blue Yonder WMS, JDA WMS, or similar warehouse platforms.\nExperience supporting distribution center or warehouse operations.\nKnowledge of inventory management and fulfillment processes.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nExperience leading cross-functional projects and process improvement initiatives.\nTop Candidates Will Also Have:\nBlue Yonder WMS implementation or administration experience.\nExperience with supply chain, ERP, and transportation systems.\nKnowledge of SQL, reporting, and analytics tools.\nLean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.\nProject management experience.\nExperience supporting automated warehouse technologies and material handling systems.\nAdditional Info:\nThe required location for this role is Fort Worth TX\nAbout Caterpillar -\nFor more than a century, Caterpillar has helped build a better, more sustainable world.
