Together, we can build what matters!\nThe Large Engine Center in Lafayette, IN currently has an opening for an Stores Controller who is responsible for receiving and safely unloading material to be used in assembly. This role is accountable for ordering material to ensure availability, tracking material in Caterpillar’s inventory system, and coordinating material flow with production schedules.\nPosition Notes:\n Please include detailed work history to be considered, attached resume preferred.\nCandidates must be able to read, write, and conduct business in English\nCandidates must complete the full hiring process which includes but not limited to: Caterpillar Online Production Assessment (COPA), successful completion of Interview, background check, post offer medical questionnaire, and drug screen.\nCandidates must successfully complete and pass Basic Assembly Training (BAT), which is completed as a part of the new-hire orientation and onboarding process.\nJob Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:\nReceiving and Unloading Material\nOrdering Material\nOversee inventory and material flow\nMust communicate with other shifts, machine shop, assembly, dispatchers, truck drivers, distribution technicians in other areas, Supply Chain personnel, and management.\nCandidate will be required to stay in the position for 12 months with the exception of a promotion ornights-to-days move.\nBasic Qualifications:\nQualified to safely operate a forklift, and tow truck\nExperience with EIMS, Visual Factory ISS, and MESA systems\nBasic computer skills.\nMust have good written and oral communication skills.\nTop Candidates will also:\nBe self-motivated, safety-conscious individual capable of working independently.\nPossess and show strong interpersonal skills and apply customer-based focus.\nPhysical Requirements:\nMust be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs. \nMust be able to bend and twist at the waist and be able to squat.\nStand on concrete for 8+ hours. \nConsistent usage of required PPE for task being performed.\nAdditional Information:\nLocation of this position is in Lafayette, IN\nPosition available is on 3rd shift (10:30pm - 6:30am)\nRelocation assistance is not offered for this position.
