Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.\nResponsibilities\n1) Hands-On Engineering & Technical Leadership\nOwn and contribute to architecture and detailed design.\nActively design and contribute to feature development, debugging, and defect resolution.\nLead and participate in design reviews, code reviews, and technical decision-making.\nMentor engineers in modern C++, embedded systems, debugging, and profiling.\nRemove technical roadblocks, clarify priorities, and work effectively.\nFoster a learning culture and encourage knowledge sharing.\n2) Delivery & Process (SDF & Agile)\nEnsure strict adherence to the Software Development Framework (SDF).\nGuide the team through backlog grooming, planning, integration, and defect triage.\n3) Cross-Functional & Cross-Site Collaboration\nCollaborate with systems, controls, sensors, and hardware teams.\nWork with geographically dispersed teams to drive improvements.\nCommunicate effectively with product managers and global leadership.\n4) Quality, Safety, and Compliance\nUphold rigorous software quality standards.\nEnsure proper defect management and release discipline.\nUnderstand safety expectations for machine-impacting software.\nRequired Technical Skills:\nStrong hands-on C++ experience for embedded development.\nDevelopment experience on Embedded Linux.\nUnderstanding of embedded systems, concurrency, and performance.\nExperience with design reviews, code reviews, and technical documentation.\nFamiliarity with sensors and positioning technologies (GNSS, IMU, laser, optical).\nStrong Git, CI/CD, and modern software practices.\nExposure to Angular and TypeScript (nice to have).\nBachelor’s or master’s in computer science, Electronics, or related field.\n6-9 years of software development experience.\nThis position requires working onsite five days a week.\nDomain / System Understanding (Preferred)\nSystem-level understanding of Caterpillar machines.\nExperience with machine control, robotics, or guidance systems.\nKnowledge of industrial safety and field deployment.\nSkill Descriptors\nIndustry Knowledge: Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters;
