As part of the Trade Center of Excellence (TCOE) within Law, Security & Public Policy, the Regional Trade Compliance Manager will help turn trade requirements into practical solutions for the India region.\nWorking alongside world class compliance, legal, and business leaders, the successful candidate will act as a trusted business partner - strengthening controls, supporting strategic decisions, and embedding compliance into day-to-day operations.\nFor a trade compliance professional looking to solve complex challenges and make a meaningful regional impact, this role offers the opportunity to help shape the future of trade compliance at Caterpillar.\nWhat You Will Do\nRisk assessment and mitigation: Support customs and trade compliance risk assessments, identify potential gaps, and help implement appropriate mitigation actions.\n\nCompliance program support: Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining trade compliance policies, procedures, controls, and processes.\n\nBusiness partnership: Work closely with business divisions, legal, and compliance teams to provide practical trade compliance guidance across the India region.\n\nTraining and capability building: Deliver training on applicable trade, customs, and regulatory requirements relevant to Caterpillar’s products, services, and technologies.\n\nStakeholder communication: Communicate risks, recommendations, progress, and outcomes clearly and effectively to relevant stakeholders.\n\nWhat You Have\nTrade and customs compliance: Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs processes, import/export controls, and compliance program requirements.\n\nAnalytical judgment: Ability to evaluate complex issues, identify root causes, assess risk, and recommend practical solutions.\n\nProblem solving: Ability to resolve operational or compliance challenges and improve processes, controls, and ways of working.\n\nStakeholder management: Ability to build trusted relationships across business, legal, compliance, and external stakeholders.\n\nCommunication and training: Ability to explain regulatory requirements clearly, deliver effective training, and communicate recommendations across levels and functions.\n\nTop Candidate Will Also Have\nDemonstrated expertise in trade compliance, customs, import/export operations, or a related field.\n\nExperience supporting, developing, or managing compliance processes, controls, or procedures.\n\nStrong business judgment, intellectual curiosity, and ability to support leadership priorities.\n\nAdditional Information\nThis position requires working onsite five days a week.\n\nHow We Support You (Employee Benefits)\nOur goal at Caterpillar is for you to have a rewarding career.
