Partnering closely with Engineering business teams and IT teams, you will identify technology needs, strengthen application capabilities and drive improvements across performance, technical health, productivity and cost effectiveness. You will take end-to-end ownership of the operational health, safety and security of applications while ensuring alignment with IT policies and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will help define application roadmaps, influence future investment priorities and turn business needs into effective IT solutions, making a meaningful impact on how technology supports and enables our business.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and drive the IT investment plan and application roadmap, aligning priorities with business needs and strategic objectives\nOwn the overall health and performance of the application portfolio, covering business capability, technical health, cost effectiveness and operational stability\nCollaborate with Enterprise Architecture and cross-functional IT teams to maximize existing technology capabilities, promote reuse and optimize solutions\nStay ahead of airline industry and technology trends, leveraging emerging technologies and innovation to create competitive advantage\nPromote modern technology practices, including DevSecOps, CI/CD and Agile/Scrum, to improve team efficiency, productivity and delivery\nMaintain strong application and data governance, ensuring clear ownership and compliance with IT, security, industry and regulatory requirements\nTake end-to-end accountability for solution formulation, delivery and ongoing support, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to required standards\nBuild, lead and develop a high-performing application team, including coaching, capability development and succession planning\nManage strategic vendors and external service providers, ensuring contractual performance, cost-effective delivery and access to relevant technical expertise and innovation\nOwn financial planning and budget management for application delivery, including annual budgeting, cost control, tracking and management reporting\nRequirements\nA minimum of 12 years of IT experience with 2 years of management experience\nTertiary qualifications\nProven experience in managing a team of technology professionals (that include in-house, external, off-shore resources) to run strategic IT projects and support IT systems\nAbility to listen and articulate ideas verbally and in written formats to a broad range of audiences; ability to ask probing questions and deliver presentations\nStrong interpersonal skills; promoting healthy relationships and team dynamics\nWell-developed analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, leveraging both logic and creativity; strong troubleshooting skills; ability to identify patterns and generate ideas\nFocus on the end user’s or customer’s needs; ability to set expectations and understand end user behaviour\nSolid experience in business analysis, software development and project management\nGood understanding of technology concepts, trends and capabilities\nPersonal & Application Information\nEqual Opportunity\nCathay Pacific is committed to fostering an environment that values Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging.
